MJ, shame on you for invoking Jazzguru's methods of pasting links with no real commentary.

In other words, Obama STFU and butt out.

Though I suspect this is the reason:

Quote:

In terms of economic dynamism, the EU is a failure. The rapidity of European economic growth in the early decades of the post-war period has blinded many people to the current reality.

And the EU is a political disaster too. Its institutions do not work; it is profoundly undemocratic; its leaders are isolated from ordinary citizens; and its economic interventions veer between the scandalously incompetent and the blatantly corrupt. For all this and much else besides, it is widely loathed.

With all of that it makes the US look great (though it is clearly suffering from some of the same issues.)

We make be coming to the realization that "big sucks" especially when it comes to nations and governments.

Probably the best thing that could happen for Europeans in a dissolution of the EU. Probably the best thing that could happen for Americans in a break up of the US into smaller countries.

Both of these are probably the best thing that could happen for the world.

Fox News, well, they don't agree.  Are you surprised?

I'm not against the south and the Bible Belt seceding. Let them try their experiments. I'll be secure and comfortable in socialist New CaliWashingYork, living with lower crime, better public transport, better interracial relations...

Is your support for people's freedom limited only to those areas?

I have no doubt you imagine it shaping up like that. Sadly for you those areas are constantly flirting with bankruptcy. But oh well, I'm sure it will all go well in your socialist Utopia.

I'm absolutely sure I'll be fine in my socialist utopia. I know this because there are examples of it working well all around the world. Altogether more likely than your own anarchist utopia.

You will have all the freedom in the world to be oppressed and violated by people who have the freedom to oppress and violate you. Have fun. I do hope your feudal lord is a strong and kind one. There will be many who are strong and unkind.

And I have no doubt this is how you envision anarcho-capitalism. In fact, I have no doubt that you envision anything less than the current amount of government to look like this.

You know, that's the sort of glib response liberals used to be able to make before Europe started imploding. Have you read a newspaper lately?

Have you ignored... Sigh... AGAIN... The fact that its the countries practicing "austerity", the countries with the lowest effective tax rates... That are the ones that are imploding? Of course you have. Have you ignored the fact that the countries with a high degree of social policy and high taxes to support those policies are doing fantastic? Of course you have.

Google refuses to censor search results accusing police of covering up crime

Quote:

In the second half of 2012, The US made 8,438 requests, more than any other country and an increase of almost 500 over the previous six months. That figure has more than doubled since 2009, the first year for which figures were released.

In the US, the majority of requests (68%) were made under the controversial Electronic Communications Privacy Act, meaning they usually do not require the approval of a judge.

Good for google. We must repeal disgusting legislation like the ECPA and the Patriot Act immediately. Seems Kucinich and Ron Paul are the only ones with the balls to support such an action. And now Kucinich has been gerrymandered out.

Of course you know, Romney would have only made things like this worse.

First, I don't know why you bring up Romney.

Second, I don't know that at all.

Third, your boy isn't doing anything to stop this.

Arguably it would have been pretty much the same under Romney...not better, not worse. He and Obama are cut from the same cloth. Shit Obama is worse than Bush on many issues. He supports the PATRIOT act. He's going after whistleblowers and drugs with greater fervor. He's amped up drone wars. He's just fine with all the "war on terror" shit. He ramped up DHS and TSA. Obama is Bush-worse. Would Romney have been Obama-worse? Maybe. But only because he could build on what Obama's already done. If Obama's the guy you leftists think is going to save this country...you're fucking delusional. He's another brick in the wall of its downfall.

There's no way Obama didn't draw down operations in Iraq, Afghanistan and Gitmo more than bush or Romney would have. Absolutely no way. And bush was the one who started it all. There's no way Obama has been bush worse.

When you're dealing pre-formed biases and opinions, yes, there is no way. Plus, you know, when your being all logical and scientific you can, you know, logically and scientifically predict the future. And, you know, when you change the subject and address different issues, you can say things like there's no way Obama's not worse than Bush.

WTF are you talking about? You saying Obama is "Bush worse" on American military aggressiveness and so-called "homeland security" is no less predicting the future than my statement to refute that claim.

But if you want to go only by historical precedent, we'll go that way. Now tell me, who actually sent more Americans into combat, Obama or Bush? Who actually started more wars, Obama or Bush? Who actually passed more restrictive laws in the name of homeland security, Obama or Bush? Who actually killed more innocent civilians overseas, Obama or Bush? Who actually incarcerated more enemy combatants, Obama or Bush? Who actually supported torture in interrogations, Obama or Bush?

Your statement is a farce. Your claim of being Libertarian and seeing Bush and Romney cut from the same cloth as Obama is a farce. You clearly hate Obama far more than you hated Bush or would hate Romney, and it's not because of Libertarian values.

Of course not. Don't be stupid. Stating an opinion about something the is present or recent past and comparing to slightly further past is not "predicting the future."

I'm sorry if your biases and partisanship have blinded you to the substantial similarities. The fact is I hate Bush (and would have hated Romney...assuming he did what  expected he would have done) as much as I hate Obama. Stop telling me who I hate more, it makes you look stupid.

Let's check that claim. Let's go back to the campaign period and count exactly how much, and how seriously, you criticized each one of the two candidates and not both. Let's do it. What's the ratio? Five to one? Ten to one? Give me a break.

So if he criticized Obama 50 times and Romney only 49 times, that means he supported Romney? Do you know how ridiculous that sounds?

It doesn't even matter if it was 10-to-1 in favor of Obama. It's a bullshit measurement and proves absolutely nothing, certainly with regard to his claim.

This is actually a symptom of the unbelievably narrow perspective of most people today. Bash Obama? Oh you must support Romney or Bush. Bash Romney? Oh you must support Obama. It's like these fucking morons cannot think beyond the extremely narrow range of ideologies offered up. They are so focused on this very narrow range that they are convinced that there is a enormous difference between these guys. But there is perhaps in rhetoric only and only marginally in action.

Do not confuse respect for the office with respect for the individual. They are entirely different things.

But really, why should I respect an office that has been used so often to trample the Constitution and usurp power from the People?

Congress' job is not to cater to the President's every whim. They are meant to be a check against his power. You know, the whole "checks and balances" thing you claim I don't understand.
