What EXACTLY IS WRONG with George W. Bush? - Page 3

Is GWB using his power as president to hinder formal investigations into his relatives or is he just not talking about it? If he is use his position to suppress actions from official side then of course its wrong but if not its his own business. Even if he knew that his grandfather did something wrong and he said he was innoncent it would be okay for me. It has nothing to do with the presidency. Of course if he was displayed as a liar people could take that into account when they placed their vote next time but thats another story.

Its just like the Clinton incident. It had nothing to do with the presidency (even though it happened int he oval office).

Funny. I take it as a good sign if the press use their time with other things (of course still under the assumption that GWB hasn“t used his position to halt an officially investigation)

Face it! Our government is corrupt. It has been for a while. Rep. or Dem. or anyone else in power. I do believe there needs to be a government in order to stay organized. People are flawed, left wing, right wing=same bird. We are so intent on disputing each other that we dont see the big picture. Most americans will not stand up until something happens to them personally. A mentality of "i dont know or care as long as it does not affect me, as long as they dont disturb my box." We need to unite as fellow countrymen and women and shout loud enough for us to mess with the governments box. Come on! did you know that it is illegal in some states to play dodgeball? It is just an example of infringements on our personal lives. Some people are quick to say "our lifestyle now is so much greater than before so i dont care what the government does as long as we continue to live better." Do we really live better? Really? actually think about it...the child with more toys does not necesarily have better parents than the one whose parents are actually there. Our rights are being taken away daily and without a peep from the public. I should not be monitored, flagged, or anything else if I have done nothing wrong. Bush's mindset and actions are only the way they are because we as a weakened U.S. society have allowed not only him but all members of our government to manipulate their power.

As far as I know he is not using any governmental power to hinder investigation. There are no ongoing investigations by any government agencies. The Bush family is very careful in controlling information being printed about them. For example,I just looked in the U of D catalog and couldn't find a single biography on Prescott Bush, which is strange because he was a very powerful senator.I just find it very odd that the press publishes extensive pieces about Bush's daughters drinking habits but completely ignores the fact that his grandfather commited treason and collaborated with mass murderers.I would like to know the reasons for this.

All right, as a card-carrying member of the Green Party I just have to laugh at this.

The woman was NOT, I repeat, NOT prohibited from travelling by plane based on her politics. She was detained for making a scene and impeding screening procedures (as we Greens are wont to do).

My fellow Greens love nothing more than to whine at every opportunity, and morons like this chick give the party a bad name.

She caught a flight later, after she decided to act like an adult.

Do you have a link to the story?
I have a newsletter from the Green Party that outlines the story in detail. I'd have to dig it out to scan it and I don't really want to.

You can believe me or not, doesn't really matter to me. Suffice it to say, I'm registered Green and get the newsletter monthly.

Most of you are totally off the subject that this thread was about. The subject was NOT "Was Bush Actually Elected" or "What about his father's presidency discounts George W. Bush."

Here's what I see as "wrong" with George W. Bush:

1)
He's not corrupt enough as a President. He's working too hard for the good of the country (as a whole). He needs to be focusing on his own personal interests.

2) He loves his wife and it shows in public. Gosh, if you're going to be President, George, at least act like you don't love her!

3) He's taking away our personal liberties. Forget the fact that this country was hunkey-dorey before 9/11 and that we NEED more security measures now.

4) He's not Bill Clinton. Damn, we need a smooth-talking, womanizing, sly President who needs to use a teleprompter for EVERY damn speech he does.

So what is wrong with George W. Bush again?

I believe you,I just wanted to know the full story-when it was originally reported it was reported differently.

Man, I already covered all the morals of the election stuff before, so im not going ot repeat it. Bush won the game though Gore won the vote, thats what you all keep saying, thats what my point it. The difference is whether we see the winning of the game as sufficient for the formation of a government.

I didn't even vote for Dubya, yet somehow I can manage to view this logically. You Democrats are hilarious.

Oh man, your assuming that your side is the logical side. DONT. The idea in any debate is to be subjective and have an open mind.
Just how exactly, may i ask, are we being illogical?

If you aren't actually a terrorist, you have nothing to worry about. None of this affects you. I'd rather have a couple hundred people in jail for a while than have my downtown blown up.

Would you allow your self or your family to be put in these kinda of confinements because you might be a terrorist? I sincerley doubt that you would if placed in that situation.

The 4 (?) counties did recounts repeatedly and Bush won them all.

Really? If i remember correctly the recounts were never finished, but they assumed that Bush would have won. Any how, the rest of this is covered above.

If the interest is really fairness and not Gore-winning, why not a nationwide recount?

Wasnt required. No where was that closely tied nor did any one else (or at least a large enough group) cry foul play.

That fact that you think I do only serves to illustrate how indoctrinated you are within your own party.
YOUR TALKING ABOUT ME! I KNOW YOUR TALKING ABOUT ME!
Seriously, has any one actually said, or even sugested anything about YOU?

Wait a second, didnt I say that we should drop this and go back to hating Bush
Why am I writing all this then? DOH!

blue2kdave
I agree whole heartedly. Ive been thinking that this war on terrorism is a cover on a much deeper issue since it started (Anthrax? Hmmm, its the terrorists right? and it came from which american lab? I remember hearing somehting about it being an extreme anti-abortionist thing...). Unfortunatly I will not make that DIRECT claim due to the fact that at this time I have no proof

On top of all that he is a hypocrite, persecuting those who engage in the same vices he did,

There was a great Boondocks on this, Ill see if I can wring it up in a bit.

I believe he is leading down a dark path of war without end
*cough* war on drugs *cough*
ahem, damn cigarette smoke.

It's almost as if we're being prepped for an invasion by Canada with the consent of united states officials
HOW DID YOU KNOW!? Yes, at this moment we have a hundred pickup trucks filled with shotgun toting Canadian marines. If you smell beer (REAL beer not that wimpy american stuff) your life is in danger.

Funny. I take it as a good sign if the press use their time with other things

You mean life Bills obsession with cigars?

Face it! Our government is corrupt. It has been for a while. Rep. or Dem. or anyone else in power.

Booya! You got it.

This is the lamest thread ever.

See my last comment.

She was detained for making a scene and impeding screening procedures

She pulled her arm away from the grasp of the national guard guy and said that she did not have to listen to his political babbel after he took hold of her and started telling her about how we need this war (or something along those lines, its been a while since I read the article).

Im assuming that you have an alternate report on this. Please distribute if you with for me to change my mind
As Rick said...

Now for my view on it all.
Im not particularily a democrat (though I did like Clinton, he was very charismatic and intelligent. I also liked his politics, mind you after Bush v1 and Regan...). I dont like the party much, and I dont like Gore at all. HOWEVER I severly dislike Bush, as Ive said I think that he is a mindless dolt being played like a puppet by a lot of very bad people. Just look at his eyes as he reads a speech, its creepy (could be that they are very small, very deepset and VERY narrow).

FOr me its a matter of the lesser of two evils, and however the evils we are dealing with are more like a lesser demon vs. beezelbub.

Bah, I feel like a fool for posting this long... this was a fun rant thread while it lasted, too bad it couldnt stay on topic.

Actually, yes. The government has their reasons even if they don't make them public. If they thought I was a big enough threat to the country, they should put me in jail. Of course I would hire a lawyer and fight my way out of it if I was in jail for more than a couple of weeks. And by "these kinda confinements," you meant jail, right? Cause that's where these people are being held.

When you walk in with the assumption that Gore should have won "in a perfect world" you are determining the outcome before the situation is even played out.

[quote]Really? If i remember correctly the recounts were never finished, but they assumed that Bush would have won. Any how, the rest of this is covered above.

Two machine recounts found Bush the winner. The handcount in progress was stopped by the Florida SC and SCOTUS because it would not be completed in time for the results to be filed.

[quote]Wasnt required.

Neither was a state-wide recount, which is what people pissed and moaned for.
