Goodbye grandmother

She passed away at 8:15 PM PST

She passed with no sign of pain. Very peacefully.

She's a tough person, even with cancer she still could stand for almost 6 years even doctor said she would only live less than 7 months.

Thanks for sharing part of your life with us Leonis...I'm glad she's at peace, and that you seem to be taking things as well as can be expected.

Keep your chin up, buddy.

Were you there when it happened?

Good. That at least is some consolation. My sympathies for you and your family.

Leonis:

Seems like she was a fighter, and went out with dignity, the way that I hope that I go out.

Remember her, cherish her, load every photo of her that you can find into iPhotos <img src="graemlins/hmmm.gif" border="0" alt="[Hmmm]" /> , because you just might have grandkids of your own someday and you can let them know what a great lady she was, and why she was special and how some of her is in each one of them.

Then their grand children can pass her pictures on, etc...

Condolences. Big hug.

You'll remember me when the west wind moves
Upon the fields of barley
You'll forget the sun in his jealous sky
As we walk in fields of gold
So she took her love
For to gaze awhile
Upon the fields of barley
In his arms she fell as her hair came down
Among the fields of gold
Will you stay with me, will you be my love
Among the fields of barley
We'll forget the sun in his jealous sky
As we lie in fields of gold
See the west wind move like a lover so
Upon the fields of barley
Feel her body rise when you kiss her mouth
Among the fields of gold
I never made promises lightly
And there have been some that I've broken
But I swear in the days still left
We'll walk in fields of gold
We'll walk in fields of gold
Many years have passed since those summer days
Among the fields of barley
See the children run as the sun goes down
Among the fields of gold
You'll remember me when the west wind moves
Upon the fields of barley
You can tell the sun in his jealous sky
When we walked in fields of gold
When we walked in fields of gold
When we walked in fields of gold

L:
I'm sorry to hear about this, and I hope that you can find peace soon. Be strong for the others around you -- that helps.

What helped me most when my grandmother passed away was to remember all the things that she taught me. I've kept a little book of all the sayings and stories and habits that she had. It's kinda corny, I know, but when folks say that "she lives in all who knew her" they're right.
