iPad car mounts

Ok ...in a kind of sick way these things rock (as long as you don't drive a Smart car)

Scosche

Mount Guys

Ram Mount

Interesting I'm hearing that GPS apps like Navigon function a lot better on the iPad than the iPhone. Not altogether surprising given the processor advantage but it may mean that the 3G signal is better as well.

I doubt that I'd mount a 9.7" iPad in my car but hey I gotta tell you I'd probably have no problems if Apple made a 7" iPad since the largest of GPS are already that size .

Garmin StreetPilot 7200 (roughly $700)

Screw the in dash GPS when you have an iPad.

Here's a video of the Scosche iKit for iPad car install.

The in-car use for the iPad is very good because they are quite expensive in standard form and this uses much less space aside from the larger screen. It's also far more powerful and useful. The only issue might be visibility in daylight but with voice navigation, it's not a problem. A permanent fixture would make syncing a bit tricky but a removable setup as shown in the images would be fine.

It's not a large market but it's certainly a market that the iPad would satisfy very easily.

I'm actually interested in a headrest mount like the one modulR is supposed to be making. Mainly for keeping the kids occupied on longer trips.

Sweet! You've saved me the effort for searching for a headrest model. I'm also curious to see who's gonna come out with a flipdown headliner mount.
