When is Apple releasing the iPad worldwide?

So when do you think Apple is going to release the iPad worldwide? After iPhone OS 4.0 is out and pre-installed?

As on 6th May, no updates on Apple Store. The Australian one says pre order starts on May 10th.

eBay doesn't count. It is flooded with iPads selling for the equivalent of USD 750+ ...

As previously noted, there are plenty on the grey market.

But I'm not interested in paying for a 16GB model what I should be getting 64GB for.

Meanwhile, Apple announced hat international pre-orders would start on the 7th of May. Today being the 6th of May, I went to one of my local "premium resellers", the one that had the Magic Mouse two weeks before anyone else in Hong Kong, and asked them about it. They hadn't heard a single word from Apple. I'll call or drop in on my usual shop tomorrow.

I thought it was the 10th? Bt just the same, my Premium Reseller hasn't heard anything yet, either.

 

Your = the possessive of you, as in, "Your name is Tom, right?" or "What is your name?"

 

You're = a contraction of YOU + ARE as in, "You are right" --> "You're right."

Preorders start May 10th here in Canada, with delivery being stated as "Late May"

An now Rogers - Our only wireless provider that has claimed they would carry the iPad has said they will announce their data package late May.

IT'S WORSE THAN WAITING FOR CHRISTMAS!!!

Still no news here in Hong Kong. Apple gave us the date of the seventh. Is there anywhere that started preorders today? UK? I guess it's the 10th in certain markets. I hope we're one of them.

These are not rumors. Apple officially announced the release in those 9 countries, and also announced a further 9 countries where the ipad would be released in July.

Knowing that otherwise I'll have to wait until July, I'm starting to feel tempted to get a grey-market iPad and swallow the US$100-150 premium. Damn. Must. Resist. And. Save. Money. For. Trip. To. San. Diego.

Here in Malaysia I played with one extensively for about 15 minutes yesterday, and for 15 minutes a few weeks ago. Yesterday my friend offered to sell it to me for $550 USD, he bought it at about $700+ and had been using it for several weeks.

I'm not too tempted. Unless I am developing iPad apps, or doing a lot of personal one-to-one presentations, or something else... I'm resisting the temptation alright so far. We'll see.
