Any Car Audio Fans

Just wondering. I have never installed a system in my car but if there are any fans here. What do you think is cool in the industry? I tend to think the Magazines go a little overboard with Lavish systems that add hundreds of pounds to the weight of a car.

If you're looking to get something that will rock the neighborhood with the pounding bass I suggest that you cover yourself in papercuts and take a bath in lemon juice.

If you're looking for good clear sound in a car, I suggest http://www.crutchfield.com and research.

I'm not a car audio freak by any stretch of the imagination...

However, I like Blaupunkt CD players. I like the clean, uncluttered look of the faces and they're decently priced. The two I've had worked great. I didn't hook up any amps or subs or any of that stuff though (although all the connectors and crap are there).

FWIW...

eh. I take it back. Just went and looked and crutchfields and it seems Blaupunkt fired their UI designer and replaced him/her with Clarion's.

Some of the Kenwoods look pretty nice though.

It's really all a personal decision anyways. Lots of options out there. Have fun!

Groverat ...errr I take it you don't like Cars attached to Speakers!

No that's just it. I'm not a "Pounder" a couple of accurate 10" Subs would do me just fine. That is the unfortunate image of Car Audio fans...the Huge Quad 15" Subs stuffed in the back of a hatchback. I'm too old for that shiza. It's more of a leap of faith because you never know what's going to sound good "in-car"
