baseball and hockey are 2 very different sports... one is a 162-game MARATHON where you dont want to hurt yourself early in the season and **** up the rest of the year and even your carreer. Baseball is a game of waiting and finnesse(sp?) where your mindset is just as important as your skill level.... hockey on the other hand is more of a contact sport, so people are used to hitting each other and have been used to it all their career(sp?)... its more of an emotional game so the harder you push yourself the better it is usually... the same is not usually true for baseball...
Also, baseball catchers go through HELL... can you imagine wearing hot catching gear in 95º+ heat in the sun all day AND get beaten up by foul balls and balls in the dirt, not to mention plays at the plate?... dont count baseball out as a "sissy" sport just because you arn't familliar with the finer points of the game...
now im also not saying that baseball takes more balls then hockey to play because well that would be untrue.... people have to be built for hockey to stand a chance but in baseball there is always that wildcard shrimp or overweight pitcher that can play and play pretty well...
hockey is fun to watch for me (ive never really had a chance to play for an extended period) but baseball is much more fun to play... (watching on the other hand is a real pain in the ass--but dont get me started...)
