WHAT?! Woods talks basketball WITHOUT a conspiricy angle? When?

Kobe did posterize poor Todd didn't he? Nasty!

It was nice to see LA play good in the beggining for a change. I still think they're only playing good enough to win. But, then again close games are more fun to watch.

I still give the Nets 2 wins. One in LA and one at home.

3 observations:

1. Kidd is the best PG in the game today.
2. Shaq is the most dominant player in the NBA today... even when he's hurt. And now he's making FT's. Ar you kidding me? Hopefully after he has another foot surgery he can get back into shape for next season. He's lost his quickness.

3. Kobe is ONLY 22! Once again, I ask anyone here: Who is/was better than Kobe at age 22 ever in the history of the NBA?

Kobe is 23, actually. Doesn't change the fact that if he had spent 4 years in college he'd be in his 2nd year, winning 6th man of the year or something rather than his 3rd world championship. MJ turned 23 during his 2nd season, and was still 4 years from winning anything. Of course the very next year he averaged 37 ppg.

I guess it's more time spent in the NBA rather than age that determines when a player is ready for prime time. Jordon broke out in his 3rd year and won a championship in his 6th. I'd say Kobe calmed down and started playing team ball in his 3rd year and won it all in his 4th. Of course he had Shaq...

I almost feel kind of bad for him. Here with the Nets, we've got yet another team in the finals with a fast player in the backcourt. That'll drain Kobe's energy on defense and the offense will run through Shaq, for whom there is no answer. Chalk up yet another finals MVP for Shaq, who should average 35+ ppg.

Ah well, in half a decade or so we'll all see what he can do without Shaq.

The only thing I watched was when I heard the TNT team was gonna be on at halftime. Charles is hilarious. Even more hilarious is his NBA Finals prediction: Nets in 6 or 7.

That's not true. I happen to like many non-Pacer players. There's Yinka Dare, Keith Closs, Adonal Foyle, Michael Olowakandi, Fenis Dembo, Jud Buechler, Sam "187" Jacobsen, Travis "Suge" Knight, etc etc...and how could I forget Adonis Jordan?

*Well, the icing rule came into effect back in the 50's when one team, hopelessly outmatched by their opponent, simply cleared the puck down the ice every time they won possession. Made for an awful game. In retaliation, the opposing team then pulled the same trick the next time they got together. The rules hockey keeps have an intesting history. Not one of those, "the game needed something to make it more interesting because nobody liked it, so they invented this shot clock..."

Actually, the reason for the shot clock was one team (especially North Carolina) would get ahead and hold the ball. It, too, made for an awful game.

I like to watch hockey once in a while, and really respect the toughness and skill of the players.

The best team won, I respect the players but hate the franchise.

Early predicton: Kings win it all next year. They've been taking the kind of baby steps some great teams go through.

It reminds me of the Bad Boy Pistons ripening as the Celtics grew old, and Jordan maturing to the point he trusted his teammates (and had good ones) enough to eventually beat the Pistons.

Sacramento has been fighting wars since that first round series with the Jazz in '99, and improving every year. (As much fun as Jason Williams is to watch Bibby is so many light years better.)

I think their hunger combined with complacancy by the Lakers will make it Sacto's turn.

As far as the East...&lt;flips coin, rolls dice, consults Magic 8-Ball&gt; Jersey again, as Kidd wins MVP!

Unless, of course, the fix is in...

Edit: Just had a thought, Jackson may be able to sell Shaq and Kobe on the historical significance of the 4peat, and get one more run out of them. Sooner or later, as level-headed as Kobe is, he's gotta start to feel lost in Shaq's shadow.

Hat's off to the Nets and Kidd. They had one of the most amazing turn-arounds in NBA history. From lottery to the Finals in one year. And they did lost to one of the best teams off all time... you can't fault them for that.

Ah, yes... bitter, bitter Woods. I think he will always see the NBA filled with conspiricy, until "his" tea, wins. Even then, I'm sure it will only be because "his" team was SO good, that they beat the conspiricy. Pathetic really... <img src="graemlins/oyvey.gif" border="0" alt="[No]" />

And yes The Kings are one the premiere teams in the NBA, and will be for years to come... BUT be afraid my freinds...

The Lakers will add a key piece this off-season. Kobe will get better. And most importantly, Shaq will get healthy and back into game shape for next season. They will 4-peat!

The Nets will in the Play-Offs year again. But, watch out for the Magic, Sixers and the Pacers. The East will toughen up a bit next year, and maybe close the gap between them and the West, but... not the Lakers.

Stamp you a dumbass. You were talking about the "Ref" consipiracy from what I remember reading. The refs sure didn't make Shaquille avg. over 32 pts. a game. Face it, you're a moron. Anyone who says Michael Jordan isn't as good as Jud Buechler (!) is a total idiot. And I'm proud to be a cracker, btw.

Maybe you can root for the basketball team on those IBM commercials. Afterall, Detleff Schrempf is on that team. And he's way better than Kobe.

Detlef is the man. The refs did make Shaquita average 32 ppg, that and being a fat ass. Am I supposed to be impressed by him? I'm not. Jud is the best damn volleyball player in the NBA.

Screw the NBA, it's over thank god. Now it's time for the U.S. Open at Bethpage Black! I'm pumped.
