Well, been away for a while so no idea who Wormhole is.

But I do know people who make a lot of money farming without harming the environment or their workers. Not as much money as they could make without those constraints though, and they do use a heck of a lot of water. Paying more taxes? Mostly rich democrats say that they want this, but then avoid taxes whenever they can.

Good Evening!

Earlier this year in May, I left the UK in my trusty '99 Nissan Almera, and drove 17000 miles around Europe for the summer, sleeping in my passenger seat, when it rained, or wild camped when it was fine. I travelled through the Pyrenees, Alps, and through the entire length of Norway until I reached a foggy Nordkapp, turned around and came back. It didn't all go to (no) plan, so I drove back to the Alps and then back to the Pyrenees, on my way to the Algarve, after much thinking, I realised what I wanted to do with my life, so I drove back to the UK, rented a spare room in Dorset near the New Forest and got a quick job to pay the bills.

I remember some time ago, I was talking to Hassan on here, I think, and I said that if I had my time again, I would have gone to Uni, and became an Astrophysist. Well 3 months in my car and after photographing the milky way on top of perfectly dark mountain at 2AM in a bivi bag - I realised that there is no difference between 18 or 34, if you really want to do something.

Well, as of October, at the age of 35, I am back at Uni, until I become an astrophysist.

I got back a few weeks ago, and tonight I decided to look at 'nova because I have TENS of thousands of photos to share! well I ended up here and saw this thread. I know the side of Chuck Norris' hand well , so good day all of you.!

Apologies to Wormhole for the mistaken identity, but as is well known - trumptman isn't famed for his logical reasoning, or skills of deduction, but I can say, that I sure wasn't participating in this hovel while I was driving the trollstigen, and jumping in Austrian mountain melt water to keep clean.

Of course, trumptman might know fully well that you are not I, and is just playing a conniving game of labelling anyone he wants banned as MarcUK, because he knows Norris would pull the trigger on anyone even remotely me-ish.

Love Austria, visited the Krimml waterfall on the advice I had from some Dutch I met in Denmark while waiting for the ferry to Norway. Drove the glossglockner road and slept at the carpark at the hotel there with some Italians and we had a spectacular evening thunderstorm which engulfed us, which cleared just before the sun went behind the mountain, causing a massive rainbow over the lake far below.

Krimml was cool, I managed to wade out in the river half a mile downstream, crossed to the otherside holding camera gingerly and got up on the bank, and shot krimml from an angle no one usually sees, then noticed a bridge and trail back to carpark. Oops.

Will be back. It might even become an annual pilgrimage in the summers when exams are over.

Was planning Scotland mid to late sept, I recall you were around the Loch Lomond area last time we spoke, you still there? I can just get there in a long days drive..

I've love to go motorcycling in Austria but I'm sure I'd get myself killed by riding on the wrong side of the road or doing the hook turn wrong.

I have a full bike licence, although I havn't ridden for 10 years, Many times I thought how great it would have been to have rode my trip. Did see hundreds of bikers all over the Alps, mostly big groups of Germans, about 20-30 at a time. Many times I pulled over at a corner apex and took photos of them from a snails eye view hoping to get a dramatic shot.

I'll upload the pics i took from the Stelvio Pass in Italy, I gained a great vantage point about 3/4 of the way up and took many superzoom photos of bikers ascending the hairpins...and a few knackered cyclists too..

..I know I'll be banned as soon as Lundy hits the wires, and thats ok, even a good thing, but I thought it a bit unfair that someone else should be banned because trumptman was being a bully...somewhat funny then that the bully turned out to have a different source.

It was stated matter-of-factly, and seemed right.

And as Trumpt points out, I then called him Marc and got answered right away without complaint.

Out of morbid curiosity, I've just been reading through the last 3 months of AO to see why the reason for this thread exists....now I see

Got to say - personally id ban Billy Childish. I see what you've been doing old chap. ...Humorous irony in the quote "Kicking the ball into your own net"

Since I've been back, I read that the current cosmological thinking is that there is enough dark matter in the universe to keep the universe expanding forever... I read that Billy thinks that there is some kind of re-occurring loop where he has to explain it all to fundies and athiests for infinity.

I can confirm that Billy is kind of right in his prognosis...Same AO...Same faces...Same BS over and over.

Indeed! Exactly what I was thinking Even the alais ties in with my love of all things cosmo...

I think its possible its someone who knew I was going off for a while, completely oblivious, needed to make a ridiculous caricature (Austrian = "Bruno" joke) of an athiest to ease their psychological insecurity and feelings of inadequacy and inferiority...then have everyone believe it was me.

Really good to see you doing well. I'm glad you found that direction in your life. Still working on mine. Funny, I did the same thing as you did a few years ago (pursued astrophysics). Gave up on it and regret doing so. Been thinking about starting up again myself.

I started a degree about 7 years ago too and gave up on that. Big mistake I guess as I would have finished by now, and could be doing all the things I really only ever cared about.

Norway changed me, I realised who I am, what my place was in the world, and that its time to step out of the shadow that held me back.

If you regret giving up, change that tomorrow and work your ass off until you are who you want to be

No actually,

I regret registering again, ironically because I thought it unfair that you were being bullied 'in my name' - even though you are a complete stranger to me - perhaps that's the best insight into who I am really.

I have just dispatched a PM message to Lundy to remove this account, as I dont want to participate at this place, under marcUK or any other guise. Those days are over.

Wormhole bashing seems to have become a bit of a sport here, so I dropped in to say I always click on threads where I see Wormhole has posted because they're often interesting, refreshing, funny and practically always, right.
