You tell me what will happen if Obama eases up on the security procedures and an attack takes place. You tell me what the Republican talking points will be. It's not hard to imagine. I do fault our president for continuing certain policies. But I also don't forget who started the culture of fear and who continually threatens to pull the terror card if anything bad happens.

So we're back to Obama (and the Democrats) being gutless wimps unwilling to stand on principle and to end the "culture of fear" and more interested in submitting to appearances and what the other party might say about them.

Which ones? This one?

We can debate all day long about who was the first politician or political party to use fear to persuade voters. But it's hardly debatable that the current administration is just as guilty of using the "terror card" to perpetrate its policies at least as regards the policies germane to this thread.

Is easing up on ineffective security procedures really the same as easing up on effective security procedures?

It's really clear that using a little behavioral profiling would make us much safer and save Grandma and five year olds from being molested. However we all have to be mauled to avoid someone screaming over the fact that they want to equate behavior and race as the same thing and thus be upset. So we all get radiation doses or our genitals groped.

Excellent question. In fact this is the very question that is being begged by anyone who supports the porno-scanners and TSA grope-downs. It is the assumption that these procedures are actually making things more secure.

No, but will Republicans vying for Congress give enough of a shit about their country to make the distinction? I wouldn't bet your sweet bippy.

But it was the Democrats who have been in control. They are the ones who've implemented this latest policy (and firmly stood by it by the way.) This one is not the fault of the Republicans. I'll agree that the TSA is (though I'd have to go look at the votes to see how many Democrats also supported the creation of bot the DHS and TSA...I'm guessing more than a few though.)

This is indeed a bi-partisan atrocity, but this latest is 100% in the hands of the current Democrats in power.

Evidently not.

Bush was a terrible president. He had 8 years to fuck things up and your group in their partisan way said " No " ( hence the moniker of the party of no ) to everything and didn't even give him a year to fix things! Please! And now that they won a small victory they're still dragging their heels! Well the voters will like it when Republican heel dragging results in higher taxes for all! Or how about if they dismantle Obamacare ( Like they say they're going to do ) and take away benifits from 25 year olds that can still have coverage from their parents?

Yeah. That'll get them a lot of votes.

LOL. You know what I think of? Airplane. The movie "Airplane" (maybe Airplane II) where they literally have the porno scanner. Sad commentary really...what was hilariously absurd commentary in 1980 is now reality.

But it's necessary remember? Everything is different after 911 just like you said many years ago in justification of all this difference ( Homeland security , Wiretapping, the Patriot act, preemptive strikes etc. ).

I seem to recall saying something about the terrorists winning as we lost some freedoms. But you seem to think it was all justifiable. What's the difference with this?

Everything changed remember?

Don't go all double standard on me now!

WITH US OR AGAINST US!
DISSENT IS TREASON!

Who took advantage of this country's trauma to exploit it for personal and financial gain? Those you support did.

Who was too spineless to stand up against it? Sadly, those closest to supporting what I believe did.

Sure, there's blame all around. But I'll assign much more to the heartless bastard than the gutless coward.

And gee, this is what a concession looks like. Your side should try to fucking make some once in a while, too. How about extending the tax cuts for 98% of the population as a start? How about not holding 98% of the country hostage in order to throw more money at those who don't really need anymore anyway?

Interesting that all those who are finger pointing at Bush/conservatives/Republicans appear to be oblivious to the facts that a) much of what was been done was with the support of the Democrats/liberals (and Obama), and b) all of it has continued (and even expanded and intensified) under Obama and the Democrats and liberals.

I guess it's true that there are none so blind as those who will not see.

In your view. Some of us do see differences between the two and don't always paint the Democrats as angels.

That doesn't excuse the GOP from it's actions.

There's a difference that I'm sure Libertarians don't see.

The TSA (Terrorizing Schutzstaffel Agency?) now has it in for pilots who know the reality of airport security and go public with their skepticism of the state-sanctioned scaremongering-bullbiscuits that's extending the work of terrorists (if they do indeed exist, outside of the military-industrial complex payroll). America's descent that echoes that of Germany in the 1930s accelerates apace.

They can't get enough can they.

Another TSA outrage HERE.

Here we have a world where idiots are put in uniform by corrupt and paranoid agencies, to enforce a law that's based on phony data, all in the name of scaring the public. And when idiots, incapable of independent thought, or propagandized to the point of automatization, are put in uniform, they tend to abuse the power given to them by that uniform. Abu Ghraib? Guantanamo Bay? Soviet gulags? Schutzstaffel? Same sh¡t, different assholes in uniform.

Security, security, security. Every rogue government uses this excuse to lord it over those they allegedly represent, or to take away hard-won rights, using fear as a very effective weapon. It works every time, just like the false-flag terror technique. Sadly, populations don't want to learn, or are scared to resist tyranny: the US (and UK etc.) public are the latest sets of guinea pigs.

In the continued absence of terrorism from the phantoms popularly assigned with the blame, the TSA and other government agencies are taking up the slack.

4th Amendment. RIP.

and btw, genuine terrorists (a very rare breed) don't target airports, for reasons even a 4 year old with commonsense unsullied by propaganda, can understand.

Knowing this, y'all can travel feeling a little easier this holiday season.

Which is a legitimate reason whereas sitinng her pacemaker as a reason not to get a body scan is wrong and spreads false information.

Great idea. You've got some pilot, whose job description most likely includes something like controlling an airplane, and the TSA takes his gun away...? This improves security... how?

No doubt he's a dumbass, but as far as I understand the situation he's basically guilty of telling the truth. In the 21st century US though, that's a crime. Everybody knows security is a joke, but no one dare says the emperor has no clothes. The emperor has handcuffs - that's all that really matters.
