It would be better if you wrote your screen name down on a piece of paper in the image rather than photoshop it in with a pretty font...

People call him a troll and a liar for saying what apparently he has to prove for some reason though. It doesn't make sense.

Duh? I don't get it? Looks like 2 boobs behind 3 tablets with the color Nook-user unsuccessfully trying to access a porn site!

I remember the old "Coke vs. Pepsi" commercials where Pepsi responded with the "Coke vs. a Tennis Ball" commercials. What kind of stupid comparison is this. It's a "no contest" comparison. An iPad is an iPad. The Tab is just a diet cola. Don't waste our time.

This story is troll bait. He's doing this to prop up apples stock price and his investments in apple.

I think the price is key.

Every one knows (even Android users though they seldom admit it), that Android is basically a copy of iOS, but sales of Android phones didn't take off until:

- enough time had passed that they could make the copy credible and close.
- the prices started to drop dramatically

Once cheap plastic Android tablets become prevalent, they will take off with the cheap crowd, but until then probably not.

But that's kinda his modus operandi. Any discussion I've seen him involved in eventually ends with him posting over size pictures of his toys. I guess he's gotta show off somewhere.

Price sure, but compare everything and TAB fails, Oh yeah "full internet" can't take that away.

A 1024 X 768 pic is causing your iPad display issues... Really?

Note: My iPad (nor any other device) experiences no such issues... Oh Well.

I have to agree with the Prof.

While the survey is pretty pointless (did he really just survey people around his block?), the main point should be that Galaxy Tab is simply too expensive for what it is. Plus, it's attached to a data plan. Apple has priced the iPad quite competitively and it shows.

EDIT: DaHarder, your picture is messing up my page on Safari also. Maybe you could have used a more tasteful font also?

You tried to use science to justify nonsense!

BTW, "size argument simply suggests that the Tab is a rip-off"??
Actually, it's to show that they have no clue what they're talking about, and put screen size ahead of system specs.

There's a reason I had you on my ignore list. I'm reminded instantly why.

I went into Bestbuy and demoed the Galaxy tab yesterday because I was seriously thinking about getting one. I also found out it is tied to a dat plan , bummer.

I spent about an hour using the thing, my take on it is it is a very frustrating experience. It seemed to me that I'm trying to fight the interface most of the time to get to what I want. It isn't exactly very intuitive. I tried downloading apps and installing them and they failed to install, typing on it is extremely frustrating and doesn't seem very fast, it sticks when paging and scrolling. Also I don't think it is small enough to fit in a jacket pocket . I thought it would be smaller but it isn't really . The criticism that the iPad is too big is I think overblown. All in all I think the iPad is a better deal and I went a way with the impression Apple will do very well with its iPad in comparison.

No he posts images of all tablets or whatever, so his opinion supposedly is not biased Old "opinion about 3 tablets" trick.

I think it's mostly an expression of wishful thinking, from those who are excited about the possibility of a certain outcome, or panic by those horrified. Rational thought processes cease and wild prognostications are made.

My crystal ball doesn't reveal much, but as tech marches on, I can see tomorrow's tablets eventually exceeding today's laptops in many important respects.

Desktop machines are already becoming specialty items. Laptops as so good that the "desktop replacement" category isn't even mentioned much anymore. The reason? Pretty much all laptops are good enough to be desktop replacements for the average user these days.

I also think that NAS will eliminate the need for robust clients around the house, and that a central system will eventually replace the need for several dedicated high-powered devices in various locations. Your TV is already connected to a dedicated media server computer: your DVR. it is not really a stretch to imagine that sort of thing expanding in functionality to serve whatever live or stored content you wish to view, anywhere you want to view it, on any device you happen to have laying on your bedside table.

01 - So you go to retail outlet and expect to be able to install apps on one of the demo devices... Really?

02 - Android easily has the most versatile/customizable UI in the mobile area, and if all you can understand is an endless array of rectangular icons (e.g. iOS) then you should have just tapped the app drawer tab at the bottom of the screen.

03 - Just because you're uncomfortable with the size/pocket-ability/overall function of the device doesn't make it any less viable/ideal for others.

This sounds like more a case of you being completely unfamiliar with Android/store policies than anything.

I wonder how it looks on the Galaxy Tab?

And he thinks they will only sell 23 million in 2011?

The thing with the iPad is that most people don't think they need/want one until they actually experience it. Apple has deployed 13 million iPads into the population as these iPads are used at homes, schools, work, planes, coffee shops, etc. they will be selling themselves.

Also don't ignore the halo effect. Most iPad owners I know already have an iPhone. There are lots of Verizon customers who are waiting for the iPhone because they have already been sold on the product. Once they get an iPhone they will be twice as likely to then get an iPad.

My prediction is Apple will sell 30-40 million iPads in 2011.

I'll see your 40 million and raise you 15 million -- Apple will sell 55 million iPads (all gens and all models) in CY 2011.

... BTW, I've got DaHarder down for 12... How many can I put you down for?

I'm unfamiliar with iOS when I tried my friend iPad and I thought it's great. Never have to understand anything about it beforehand. When I tried Galaxy Tab my wife walked away swear she wouldn't look at Android again although she really like the size being small woman and all. She's that unimpressed.
I don't think the need to understand is required. We just tested what we want to use the device with. If we found it's not that good it's not that good. Very simple.

Err... Do you mean that Screen Size isn't a system spec?

Or... were you just looking for something to argue about?

Seriously... What's there not to understand about a series of colored squares arranged in a grid ?

For those who desire a greater degree of UI flexibility/customization, Android currently represents the most capable environment.

What use of customization when the device is just laggy? And don't let me get to anything else.
I wasn't familiar with iPad and I wasn't familiar with the Tab. I gave both devices a fair chance and the Tab lost. Again, very simple.

Well, he is a troll. We all remember when he was centering the text on all his posts just to annoy people. Whether he's lying or not, and about what, is another question. But he clearly he's only here to bash Apple and get people riled up, just like you, and that's pretty much the definition of troll, isn't it.

But that is the typical computer novice/technologically illiterate method. Look at any newbie's desktop. Rows of icons, all right there, front and center, no experience required.

There's a good reason why Apple chose the arrangement they did.
