Computer keeps trying to change spelling to UK spelling?

For some reason my laptop lately has been trying to correct words like favorite to favourite? Like it underlines favorite with a red line and wants to add a U. I don't know why it started doing this. How can I fix this?

Check your selected language in the International preferences pane.

Ah thank you! My computer was set to Australia for some reason.

That's because how english words should be spelt the UK English way.
