Bill Bradley to comedian Bill Cosby: "Bill, you are a comic, tell us a joke!"
- "Senator, you are a politician, first tell us a lie!"

I don't know what you're talking about, but I never really cared for the guy, just doesn't seem to be any kind of music I can appreciate as 'musical,' you know?

Just another pop act who will not even be on the radar in 2-3 years, chances are.

The nature of the biz, I guess. Mediocrity and lameness rise to the top and burn brilliantly for a short time until someone else steps in to fill the position. Meanwhile, people who can truly sing, play, write, etc. often go unnoticed and unrewarded. Perhaps they don't possess "the look" or maybe they're just not savvy enough to understand "how things work"?

The majority of what's out there is disposable, "for the moment" schlock...marketing, hype and "product". Very few true, legit talents and true artists out there...in ALL genres.

Anyone looking at the music charts and disagreeing with those statements needs their head examined and needs to grab the reins of reality a bit harder.

Norah Jones, baby. She's got to be the antithesis of pop and hip-hop's ephemeral nature. Though she doesn't burn as brightly, I'm sure her flame will not die as soon. I'm downloading "Don't Know Why" as we speak.
