iBook speed bump at MWTK? - Page 2

MWTK will bring us new TiBooks and iBooks, if MWSF is desktop oriented.

The iBook will be bumped to 700, maybe 750MHz.

The TiBook will get bumped to 667/800. Perhaps 600/733.

As I understand it, sampling != production. Sampling just means they're churning out enough for customers to build test mules around.

That's one reason why I'm not expecting a radically faster iBook at MWSF: There'll be nothing faster to put in it. By Tokyo, maybe, now that it's going to be held well into March. But I'd look for a 700MHz model then. Unless Apple ditches the G3 in the iBook, it'll be the last Macintosh to cross the GHz line, sometime in late 2002.

If the iBook gets Apollo, then anything goes. But I'm not sure if that's the right chip for the model.
