Apple seeds new build of Mac OS X 10.6.8 to developers

Thread Starter
Apple on Thursday issued the second beta build of Mac OS X 10.6.8 to developers with no known issues.

Both the Combo Update and the Delta Update for Mac OS X 10.6.8 build 10K524 are a 1GB download. According to people familiar with the matter, focus areas for the build include Airport, Graphics Drivers, Mac App Store, Networking, QuickTime and VPN.

The first build of Mac OS X 10.6.8, identified as 10K521, arrived a week ago with no details on changes.

The most recent update to Snow Leopard came in March in the form of Mac OS X 10.6.7, which included display fixes for Apple's early 2011 Thunderbolt MacBook Pros. Other adjustments included changes designed to improve the reliability of Back to My Mac, resolve issues when transferring files to SMB Windows Files Sharing servers, and address Mac App Store bugs.

Apple is expected to release a major upgrade to Mac OS X this summer with Mac OS X 10.7 Lion. The Cupertino, Calif., Mac maker will "unveil the future of Mac OS" at its annual Worldwide Developers Conference from June 6 through June 10 in San Francisco.

Mac OS X Lion takes popular features in iOS, such as full screen apps and auto save, and brings them back to the Mac.

shoud i be saying yay?
yay... (nor for being first neither for 10.6.8 but for 10.7 as WWDC is only 16 days to go)\\

back to the topic: 10.6.7 didn't fix the external display problem for me, i still can't see my HDTV attached to it with mDP to HDMI adapter...

my way or the highway...

Macbook Pro i7 13" with intel SSD 320 series and 8GB RAM, iPhone 5, iPad 3 (Retina)

External display detection absolutely sucks on 10.6.7. My mid 2010 cannot boot in clamshell mode... freezes every time. Boot camp works just fine however.

I wonder if it will replace the MobileMe preference panel with an iCloud one?

I know... makes me wonder if they have recompiled a bunch of stuff with LLVM that otherwise hasn't changed.

10.6.7 Combo was nearly 1 GB too. So what?

Developers who had issues - no girlfriends, body odor, poor self-esteem - were refused copies of this beta release.

Sigh. This is why I read daring fireball; Gruber is simply better at stringing words together.

You download BRRip files larger than 1 GB just to watch 90 minutes of crappy entertainment.

How long would that take on my 50Mbps downstream service (have been getting around 32Mbps down from iTunes store) - maybe 5 minutes if I have done the math correctly.

I'm predicting a release during WWDC after two or three more builds.
