Words have meanings. Obama is NOT a socialist in our system or any other.
I'm not redefining anything. I'm saying that as politics in this country go, he's far left. Obviously that is not true if we're talking European political spectrum. In that one, he's a bit right of center. In any case I don't support his policies. He's clearly a "big spender" beyond anything we've seen in recent memory. He clearly favors more government involvement in the economy, business, etc. He clearly wants higher taxes. And he clearly wants Universal healthcare, which I do not support.
To be honest though, my opposition to Obama goes beyond policy. I find him extremely arrogant. He gets annoyed and angry when people disagree with him. I find him incompetent, dithering and unable to make tough decisions. He's even worse at communicating those decisions.
And as for Republicans, I totally disagree. Conservatives lost in the last Presidential election. McCain was the moderate. And the GOP lost its hold on Congress after allowing Democratic-like spending levels. The problem is not conservatism for the GOP. The problem is when they get too involved in social-wedge issues and high spending/growth of government. The problem is when they get away from their fiscally conservative/small government roots.

He's on the warpath against all religious beliefs lately.
