Who would have guessed! I even find Hitlerism!

Well I guess he can't be wrong all the time. Pretty obscure usage but I stand corrected!

I bet he put that in the speech just to tweak Germany a little. Hitler wasn't that long ago.

I remember the other one was "crawfish". Everyone had a good laugh at that, only to find out it was an old British expression that meant just what he used ot for.

Oh wait "Bush is an idiot"

Looks like some of you need to retract a few things? Bush probably isn't a dumb or as much of a word-mangler as you'd like him to be, huh?

That just really gets under the skin of some of you, huh?

See, that's what happens when...ah, never mind.

<a href="http://abc.net.au/news/justin/weekly/newsnat-28jan2003-93.htm" target="_blank">This is for you scott.</a>

"The spectacle of the United States, armed with its weapons of mass destruction, acting without Security Council authority to invade a country in the heartland of Arabia and, if necessary, use its weapons of mass destruction to win that battle, is something that will so deeply violate any notion of fairness in this world that I strongly suspect it could set loose forces that we would deeply live to regret," - Former UN arms inspector Richard Butler

Take it what you will. We will piss off the other Arab countries as well (gee, we haven't already?) if we continue down this road...

When did the US say it would use WoMD (nuke, chem, bio) ? Did they use them in Afghanistan? No. Nuke is always a retaliation option. Does the US even have bio or chem weapons?

No, rather the anti-US foes will put a straw man and knock it down. Then slap each other on the back and tell each other how right they are.

Everyone here seems to have forgotten it was Mister Entertainment, William J. Clinton, that kept the agencies that were responsible for "Keeping America Safe" under funded and under staffed.

I may not like what George W. Bush is doing about IRAQ. But with shape that some agencies were in when he took office, he has one he11 of a job to get them back to the quality of information that they came to be known for.

...I guess those hi tech WOMD (Daisy Cutter anyone?) aren't as damaging...huh?

Look, tens (hundreds?) of thousands of crack troops, the most advanced land, sea and air weaponry and technology that makes even Steve Jobs whimper...I classify our firepower pointed at Iraq WOMD...absolutely.

And so does the other Arab nations.

Daisy cutter is a big bomb, 10,000lb, but it aint no nuke, chem, bio. If that's the best example of "US WoMD" you'll have to do better.

cannibals, raining from the sky like locusts, eating civilians left and right!!!

now that's a WOMD.

How about putting in large letters on the side of cigarette packs, "This product will cause lung cancer." Or somthing along those lines. <img src="graemlins/bugeye.gif" border="0" alt="[Skeptical]" />

Wait, we already do and people do not care. An addiction, as in the case of cigarettes and drugs, will not be stopped by putting warning labels on it. It will be stopped by ensuring that those who have not used those drugs, never do. That is the whole point to that debate.

I call all of that very powerful conventional weapons and a highly funded and trained miltary. If they brought in the NUKES then we have WOMD.

[quote] As I have said, there has not been a single Bush policy that has been successful. Not a single one. He talks the talk, and for some of you that is enough because you follow the Republican warmongering agenda because that is what you identify with, not because that is what you agree with.

It wasn't Bush's fault. His speechwriter should never have used a phrase that is so obviously beyond Bush's vocabulary (and obviously the audience's in the 'crawfish' case).

Also, all the Bushisms were he manages to mangle his ghost-written speeches and his unique (m)ad-libs will probably make it into the next OED if they pass into reasonably common use as it is primarily a record of usage and inclusion is not based on merit of any kind.

I don't care which side wins because I hate both...but the proper terms are Leftist Asshole and Conservative Blowhard.
