Question for owners of 2011 13" MBP.

My question is about the optical drive. How far do you have to insert a disc before the disc is pulled in by the drive? Mine is working okay, but it does not "grab" the disc until there is only something like 1/4" of the disc sticking out of the drive. Is this normal? I have had a slot loading Mac in the past and it seems like it grabbed the disc a lot sooner than this one does. Thank you, in advance, for any replies.

That's normal, all the more modern Mac have shorter grab distances. I'm not entirely sure why they changed it but I've noticed it comparing older to newer machines.
