okay, here I am looking at top running in my terminal. At the very bottom I see a command running called "idle_threa", now what is freaking me out is that I'm seeing its %CPU up in the 188% area!!! I've been looking at it like that for a number of minutes. The only reason it hasn't gone up to the closer to the 200% mark is that I'm running a few applications. It grabs what it can.
So I have a few questions:
What is "idle_threa"?
Should it be there?
If it isn't, how do I get rid of it? <img src="graemlins/surprised.gif" border="0" alt="[Surprised]" /> <img src="graemlins/surprised.gif" border="0" alt="[Surprised]" />
Also, an interesting fact is that its PID is 0. At the same time that "kernel_tas" PID is also 0!!!
0 kernel_tas 0.9% 2:48.94 24 0 - - - 61.1M 703M
0 idle_threa 128.3% 8:53:35
