Can? Very likely. Will Apple ever give us said choice? Nope.

...on the Mac. Anyone who has followed Apple development knows this of course. And the fact that you can add to and modify the library as well via ConvenienceWare, Cepstral, InfoVox, and CereProc products. Apple typically releases leading edge developments with a reduced set of setting and controls to make sure that user experience is controlled and doesn't requires excessive user intervention intially. Once they are comfortable with the user responses, they expand the feature set.

Recalling of course that Apple made clear in the release announcement that Siri was in beta release, yes?

Oh, voices for Siri on a desktop? Of course they will. We can download Nuance voices right now; those will just be the source from which OS X's Siri will pull audio.

Depends. After reading the Steve Jobs biography, it could be that he was called a "shithead" multiple times, Steve thought he was a "bozo" and "braindead", and that Siri "sucked" before Apple bought them... and even without Steve around maybe he didn't gel with the Apple couture [sic].

Or he wanted to move on and try other stuff, spend time with family, etc. and it was indeed "amicable".

All the best to him, in any case.

Next up: Apple, CoreSiri for app developers. That's right y'all, you know where this could head.
