A screw and I

I am trying to unscrew the Airport riser in my iBook (dual USB), and my screwdriver won't unscrew one of them. What can I do!? I have to be able to put my stick of 256 in there, because without it I can't use my new VirtualPC 5, Unreal Tournament ( ), or other necessities! I am nervous about penetrating oil, any suggestions anyone?

take the 'book down to your local hardware store. they've got every driver and wrench you could imagine. one of them will fit. i had to take apart my work ibook once and they had what i needed, after some searching.

Suggestion:
Turn your iBook open upside down and slap it a little. Maybe the screw falls out then, who knows.

Defiant, if I want to kill my iBook, I'll do that. Oh, but I am overclocking it to 600/350! It can use all the care it can get!

I mean, since I got so frustrated last night, I probably stripped the damn screw! What am I to do!? I have to remove the Airport riser for RAM and a little soldering

You can buy striped screw removers from your local hardware store. I had a striped screw on my iMac, and they worked great.

You need a Philips head screwdriver #0. That will fit the small screws that lead to the RAM slot. One with a magnetic tip will help since those screws don't like to come out even when they have been unscrewed.

A word of advise...if you're having this much trouble and frustration with putting in the RAM I wouldn't recommend attempting an overclock project. Those two RAM screws are going to be some of the easiest to handle when trying to open up the entire iBook.

Well, no harm Defiant

I think I'll use an adhesive and put a pin on top of the screw, and use this pin to turn the screw. CrazyGlue, perhaps?
