Is there a way to manage power of USB hubs on iMac?

I have an iMac 2.66GHz in which a USB Studiologic keyboard controller is connected to by USB. If the keyboard unattended for 15 minutes or longer it disconnects itself. I have to take out and reinsert the USB plug and then it reconnects itself. I have changed the Energy Saver ( in System Preferences) to Never shut off for computer. Don't know if that will work?

Sounds like an issue with the keyboard itself and not the USB ports.

Why would you care? Maybe someone else has this issue and just hasn't bothered posting.
