My wife just uploaded a bunch of pics. She got errors that she was out of space. She did have a lot of pics up so that may have been true. She deleted some, uploaded no problems.

I should mention I did initially have the error you mentioned but I opened the prefrences window, closed it again, tried again and it worked.

I've tried it with 2 different accounts (mine and my wife's) and neither works.

Nevermind, it works now...odd.

I'm getting the same message about an incorrect password, and for the record, my password is within the 6-8 character parameter. They might be doing work on the other side of things -- disconnecting and reconnecting servers with accounts on them or something. This should be interesting....

I had this problem 3 days ago, so I'm not sure if it's just a new thing...

I had to log out and log back in a few times to get all my pics uploaded.

Can confirm... mine was working a while ago, now I'm getting the same message.

Definitely doing a rotating deployment... am curious how they've got us broken up, now that I'm thinking about it... but they're definitely doing something to the servers/authentication layers.

Mail still works, though - had to dig out my password for AI

I just went to the itools website and got a message saying that iTools is unavailable.

<a href="http://itools.mac.com/unavailable/" target="_blank">iTools go bye bye... </a>

Wonder what's going on??

Wow, if iTools is down, then .MAC is really coming. Is this time for a "woo hoo" or a "um, ok, so what?" ONLY TIME WILL TELL FOLKS!!! <img src="graemlins/smokin.gif" border="0" alt="[Chilling]" />

Update:

My iDisk works again. Obviously, they're gearing up for tomorrow so we're seeing intermittent outages of iTools and iDisks as a result.
Well, iTools were originally were for 9.1 and up. Anyone else thinking that they may change it to OS X and up? or maybe .mac for free for OS X users, or only available for OS X?

Aaaah, probably not. *hoping*

here you go . .. . . go to apple.com/mac

then go to apple.com/asdf
or apple.com/iwalk

see anything different? /mac automatically adds another "/", and gives an error instead of "page not found"

It's coming

Here's what I get when I go to <a href="http://www.apple.com/mac" target="_blank">www.apple.com/mac</a> in Chimera:

I also see the <a href="http://www.apple.com/mac" target="_blank">www.apple.com/mac</a> adding an extra "/". Examining the page source, it's trying to point me at <a href="http://www.mac.com" target="_blank">www.mac.com</a>. Typing <a href="http://www.mac.com" target="_blank">www.mac.com</a> by itself also results in the above error.

<a href="http://www.apple.com/crackpipe" target="_blank">http://www.apple.com/crackpipe</a>

This does the same thing as the examples you cited

"Cluck" said the cow

crackpipe is coming! my idisk is fine.
No, there's a difference. <a href="http://www.apple.com/mac" target="_blank">http://www.apple.com/mac</a> [b]adds a slash and redirects you to <a href="http://www.mac.com/" target="_blank">http://www.mac.com/</a> - which is offline.

/crackpipe, /asdf, and /iwalk do not do this, just give you a page not found error.

Look at your own (or anybody else's) homepage. It's now saying "Created using .Mac" ...

Go to the itools section in the Apple tech support <a href="http://discussions.info.apple.com/WebX?14@20.q4qXae23c19.0@.ee6bb2d" target="_blank">Discussions</a>
area.

It says it's down for "maintenance" and will be up by 9am pst. Hmmm... soon after the keynote ends??
looks definetly like somed sort of subscription service. looks like the apple header is replacing itools w/ .mac.

any pages you have on your itools disk should have a little graphic with .Mac in it now... white apple whata surprise.
the HomePage link two posts up is has .mac written all over the error page!

crap.

I can still mount my iDisk from "Recent items"

No new software showing...
