I am trying to install bootcamp on my macbook and for some reason it keeps giving me this error that it cannot partition the drive due to the fact it cannot move files and I don't know how to resolve this issue

Anyone have any suggestions?

It's because your hard drive is fragmented and it can't allocate enough contiguous space to your partition. You can try making a smaller partition until it works (it helps to move large files off your drive first to an external then copy them back) or you can do one of the following:

- use iDefrag ( http://www.coriolis-systems.com/iDefrag.php ) to defragment your drive
- clone your entire drive to an external drive using Carbon Copy Cloner ( http://www.bombich.com/ ), erase the internal with Disk Utility and clone it back

To avoid this headache in future, it's a good idea to set up the Bootcamp partition as soon as you get the machine as the drive is clear.
