According to many rumors and from the roadmap the G5 will be a 64bit chip.
The question is : is there any interest for us Apple average consumers for such a chip.
64 bit chips are usefull for servers, like the power 3 and power 4 chips, but did they worth the prize for graphics use and multimedia ?
Won't it be more interesting to put the extra amount of transistors that it need for other features (more fpu unit for example ..)
Your opinions is wellcome.
