Actually, I am quite impressed with the way Apple is handling this iOS release...

-- There has been a solid 5.1 beta out for 2 months

The answer to Multiple-Users is buy another iPad.

I can't believe someone in here actually said, "lack of multi user is killing sales!"

LMAO. What a joke. Apple will never, ever implement multi user on iOS and never, ever should.

Buy your own. Don't use someone else's. If you don't need it that badly, don't buy it. If you do, buy it.

But enough of this multi-user crap. Cheapskates.

How about fixing the biggest defect in the iPhone's OS: THE LACK OF AUDIBLE NOTIFICATION OF MISSED CALLS.

It's incredible that this stupidity continues year after year. How much time with family and friends do we have to miss because our phone sits there stupidly and doesn't make a peep to tell us that someone called when we were in the shower. Or down the hall getting laundry. Or driving over a rough road. Or watching a loud part of the movie (AT HOME).

Retarded. This is a goddamned Unix computer. Regular cell phones had this common-sense feature well over a decade ago. Hell, my 1980s microwave beeps periodically if I forget to take the food out.

Given changes in technology and usage patterns, this is probably an intentional and desirable behavior.

It allows people to repeatedly attempt to reach you when you're out of range or otherwise unavailable. When you come back into range, you will only be bombarded with notices of actual communication that people have left for you upon your return. To do otherwise would result in a rather unproductive series of repetitive and unneeded series of alarms.

This functional behavior allows people to choose between two different level of communication attempts. Leaving a message ensures that the person will be actively notified of the communication attempt. Choosing to not leave a message can indicate that no call back is needed. In other words, this allows for more distinct interaction types.

Certainly it doesn't fit everyone's needs, but it doesn't seem like an oversight.

That sound is the only sound on my cell phone that cannot be turned off by the user. I hate it so much I want to scream. I'd tear apart my phone and rip out the speaker if it wasn't needed for other things. I'd plug it into my computer and erase all audio files from the operating system if the darn thing was actually compatible with any computer.

I HATE that it's not changeable. I wouldn't miss it if I ever got service on my iPhone.
