Actually, you're stating a misunderstanding of Darwin's theory, as well.
Both the weak and the strong eventually die. Those who adapt die just as much as those who don't die.
HOWEVER, over time, a sub-species that can adapt to new conditions is more likely to have more offspring before dying than a sub-species that can not adapt.
