Forrester Research chief executive George Colony laid out his case in a blog postWednesday for why he thinks the company will start looking like just another tech companies within the next four years unless it finds another "special, magical" leader like Steve Jobs.

"Hmm. Steve said he could only see five years out."

*does some complicated math*

"So in four years, Apple won't have any of Steve's products anymore."

*thinks for hours*

"So unless they find another Steve, Apple is doomed in four years."

*writes article*

Now for my bit: We already have Forstall; he'll be CEO after Cook. I may not like all of his ideas, but he'll be able to execute them the way that Steve did.

I don't agree that Forstall will be CEO but I do agree that with Forstall and Ive there, this issue of no Steve really isn't an issue. They understand Steve's philosophies etc and they will keep to them to a great degree for easily the next decade. And they will train their underlings in such philosophies as well. Apple may not stay 100% Steve but it will stay a good 75-80% Steve's ways for a while.

Also I totally disagree with Forrester about Apple needing or having another 'rock god' CEO. We saw what happened when Steve got sick, that was mainly because of folks equating Apple with Steve. Tim Cook might be boring as hell but the focus stays on the products not on the man, as it should be
