'Exciting' Sept. could see Apple intro new iPhone, iPad 'mini' - Page 3

ok, now I feel like a huge dope. The nook's screen size is actually 6" not 5". But I still hold to my argument that a 6" touch, after dropping the current one, is still better than a 7.85" iPad.

A 5" device is very different than a tablet.

Yes, it even requires a different UI strategy...

That's not what thousands of people said. Most didn't believe it at all until it was opened and the Apple branding on all the parts proved it.

This thing looks like doodoo.

Seeing as it looks identical to the iPhone 4, you're sending mixed messages here.

Not to mention that a 16:9 screen would make 700,000 apps useless...

Not in the slightest. Please don't just say words.

Its lame just to think that a 16:9 iPhone is possible.

Agreed. Doesn't mean it isn't happening.

700,000 apps would not become useless, WITHOUT AN UPDATE?

What about all those old apps that developers decided to stop updating?

How will those apps "stretch" themselves magically so they dont become all weird....???

Apple would not allow that. I would bet a hundred grand that the next iPhone is NOT 16:9.

AppInsider should not publish these mongoloid articles...

Comparing this resolution to the transition between 3GS and iPhone 4 is NOT VALID.

When the iphone 4 came out, you could run EVERY SINGLE APP ON FULLSCREEN without them being updated. Which would not be the case with this retarded resolution.

They wouldn't become useless at all. Do you understand how apps run on the iPad? You can run iPhone-sized apps there. They work fine.

What about them? They'll run, too.

They won't stretch. You've obviously never seen an iPhone app on an iPad.

I wouldn't take that bet, despite sharing your desire (but not your belief).

I have the new ipad. And I do nit think that is what Apple would like for their iphone. It would be like releasing a THIRD product and STOP with the iphone.

I KNOW THE APPS WOULD "STILL RUN" but they will run with a nasty black bar on top.

Hundreds of thousands of them.

Imagine Apple doing that. LETTING EVERY SINGKE APP RUNNING WITH A SINGLE BLACK LINE ON TOP OF THEM.

Its like nobody uses their brains.

It just WONT happen.

Well, they don't seem to agree.

Oh, so, exactly like the iPad. Since day one. Two years ago.
