As a GMail user, I've been bouncing between Sparrow and Mail Plane for a while now.  I've largely stuck with these because I was operating under the assumption that these two mail clients don't store messages locally, but rather on GMails servers.   I've struggled with keeping my 256 SSD from busting at the seems, so  this seemed like a good option to only accessing GMail via their web portal.
I'd like to start using Mail since I like to keep everything in the Apple ecosystem.  If all of my GMail accounts are IMAP, would I achieve the same SSD conservation (as long as I don't check "keep mail for offline viewing" from within Mail's preferences)?
I'm not a huge email user, but know I need to continue to be diligent about where I "spend" my SSD's bytes...
