You're only continuing to demonstrate my point. You're mistaking rational replies regarding other tech players as being anti-Apple. You on the other hand have an automatic emotional response that I don't share.

I understand you're passionate about Apple. Enormously so. I think that's causing you take correction of things you use to criticize  (they don't have Bluetooth 4.0, all book prices didn't go up, look at the lag in this video) as promoting other's products. It's not. There's real reasons why Apple products deserve their high praise, so no need to rely on "imaginary" ones. Mentioning those "imaginary" points are just that isn't promoting a competitor.

The best Android tablets seem to be missing an SD card slot.  Others are too expensive for what they are.  The entire concept of using a cell phone OS is questionable, IMO.

And there are relatively few dedicated tablet apps on Android as of now.

When the market is more mature, there will likely be many good choices.  As of now, there are few, and the iPad is the default, normal choice.

If there were a 7 inch tweener running Jelly Bean that had an SD card slot at a good price, with a great screen, I'd consider buying it.  As of now, I'll wait and see.  With Windows 8 tablets on the horizon, I think waiting is the right move.

Absolutely agree. Threads can start off with respectful exchanges of different opinions. Eventually almost all of them degrade into name-calling, trollish comments, and personal insults. Certain Apple fans even do it to other Apple fans here.

I'd love to see some more control exhibited by the moderators and admin. Perhaps the antics of some of the worst offenders of forum rules are considered assets by site management and to be left alone by intent, drawing like-minded anti-social/pompous/insulting types to visit and comment. I really don't know.

I agree though that Android should really put in those SD cards. That's how they were defined since the beginning. lol

The iPad has as many or more dedicated Apps than Windows Phone has.

You still think Facebook is "what they say they are" and somehow different than Google in their quest to understand and monetize their customers? Same concerns from the FTC and general settlement terms with the government that Google got hit with. Same bypassing of Safari users security settings as Google was accused of. It seems to me that you have no real concern over Facebook simply because they're considered Apple's friend...

As long as they're OK in Apple's eyes then it's OK? That's the determining factor in your decision whether a company if good or evil? That's the way it appears.

I'm not saying either one hasn't suffered from privacy questions and issues. You on the other hand seem quite comfortable in overlooking the same when committed by Facebook. You propose they're trustworthy. Why? I think it's because they're currently in Apple's good graces and what's fine with Apple is fine with you. If I'm incorrect perhaps you have some other reason? Having such strong feeling about Google's monetizing of us but saying don't worry if Facebook appears to do the same doesn't sound logical does it?

That's why I suspect your reaction to Google is more emotional than rational. You want to believe criticisms and claims that may not be true or only partially so, failing to see the clues that would lead you to question.

Actually iOS is an OS three of four different UIs all four of which (adding Mac OS X) are based on BSD Unix. What he is referring to, with respect to Android (a varient of Linux with a Java run-time environment on top), is that until Ice Cream Sandwich no attempt was made to take advantage of the larger scale display by showing more controls at once in a way that is differentiated from how the UI appears on an Android phone.

So iOS is a phone OS but not JUST a phone OS. It is also, like Android, a tablet OS and a TV OS. Oddly enough though, Android does not yet feature a desktop UI which for some reason is the space that Google's Chrome OS plays in.

But set all that aside, Android developers don't seem particularly interested in providing tablet apps (where the app not just expands to fill the screen but actually takes advantage of the space to make the app show more controls to the user at once) in any great numbers. Perhaps this will change?
