UK judge rules Apple must advertise Samsung did not copy the iPad - Page 6

Should I be more libellous towards that judge?

 

Will that get me a trip to the land of Lizzie and her family of the World's richest dole bludgers.

 

C'mon you said I'd get a trip to London to see the Queen because the British courts have that power over what I say on forums.

I'm just going on all the iPads I sell and the fact that we never bothered restocking Tabs because no-one ever asks for them.

We got rid of appeals to the Privy Council as the highest ruling court a few decades ago.

 

British judges have no say about law in Australia, although I think you can still appeal to our Queen.

That is incorrect. There are trademarks, for sure, but, there are also Design Patents, which are separate and distinct from both trademarks and utility patents (for which we euphemistically call "inventions"). However, patents expire but trademarks do not. Coke's design for the bottle was protected by a design patent, which expired, so Coke as able to persuade the courts to give them a permanent trademark in the design, so they now own it forever.

Your absolutely right! Reading useful or just entertaining comments is now quicker and more enjoyable. I also noticed I can quickly scan threads for blocked posts and determine which threads are troll-infested. Thanks for the fix to our mutual problem!

There can't be no better ad than quoting the judge's factual opinions/pronouncements in court with a creative twist. If the judge thinks he is smart, he is so fu*king mistaken.

Apple's ad should have a picture of the two products followed by this:

 

"Apple iPad and Samsung Galaxy Tab. They couldn't be more different."

 

(and then the legal blurb underneath)

 

Every country has examples on bizarre legal decisions. At least the English legal system does something harmless like this instead of, say, executing the mentally handicapped.

 I don't know. This is a stupid decision, but after seeing what having an iPhone costs you per month in the US (in yesterday's thread about 3G Facetime) - it makes me pretty glad to be British.
