Should I be more libellous towards that judge?

Will that get me a trip to the land of Lizzie and her family of the World's richest dole bludgers.

C'mon you said I'd get a trip to London to see the Queen because the British courts have that power over what I say on forums.

Don't confuse him with actual evidence.

We got rid of appeals to the Privy Council as the highest ruling court a few decades ago.

British judges have no say about law in Australia, although I think you can still appeal to our Queen.

Let me guess...Dick Smith or JBHIFI? It's not possible that you are in any kind of management level since you know zero about Australian consumer law so I put you as a young naive sales droid on the floor of a standard retailer.

Get off your high horse, and please go somewhere else. Your posts are really getting to be ridiculously offensive at this point, and you have completely derailed this thread. I can assure you that you are not piling up good karma around here. Folks remember.

You seem to think your opinion matters to me lol.

Hill60 has proven many times to be ignorant of the basic facts regarding consumer law in Australia yet wants to push his opinion about sales of something in this country. Basically Hill60 has no credibility in this area.

I'm done with you now so off to the block list you go buddy! :)

That is incorrect. There are trademarks, for sure, but, there are also Design Patents, which are separate and distinct from both trademarks and utility patents (for which we euphemistically call "inventions"). However, patents expire but trademarks do not. Coke's design for the bottle was protected by a design patent, which expired, so Coke as able to persuade the courts to give them a permanent trademark in the design, so they now own it forever.

Guys, don't waste your time with this idiot. Just put him on block instead. It works great and cleans up your browsing experience significantly.

Only drawback is when someone quotes him you still have to suffer through his BS. But it is an improvement.

Your absolutely right! Reading useful or just entertaining comments is now quicker and more enjoyable. I also noticed I can quickly scan threads for blocked posts and determine which threads are troll-infested. Thanks for the fix to our mutual problem!

Only problem is that you still see the blocked user when someone replies to them i.e. I have Eric blocked but I can see the post since you replied.

Unless you turn it into a meaningless footnote, to something educational and entertaining, like so:-

Not quite sure what's going, but I get the feeling someone is being minimalized. I could read the other post to find out but...nah! This is nice!

P.S. - Thanks, it hadn't occurred to me that I could reply to a post without spreading the original post.

Every country has some sort of embarrassment, just look at George W Bush and he was in for two terms!!!

I'd rather have this judge....

Apple's ad:

Galaxy Tab is not a copy of iPad as someone would like us to tell the world. But only because Samsung products are just not as cool as Apple.

The only thing that is clear from your post, rude as it is, is that you view the world through an extremely narrow prism.

Conversely, I view the world with a wider perspective to understand how and why things are as they are.

Corp. taxes in Ireland are lower, meanng that Apple save money, unfortunately it means that UK itunes customers have to pay the higher levels of Irish Vat on itunes purchases. Thanks Apple...

Conversely, I view the world with a wider perspective to understand how and why things are as they are, and why people behave as they do. You, or a judge, are influenced by, and even the result of your combined experiences.

700Perhaps the judge took devices such as the iTablet (from 2007) into account when ruling that Samsung did not steal the overall design from apple and may have been inspired by more than one pre-existing device

There can't be no better ad than quoting the judge's factual opinions/pronouncements in court with a creative twist. If the judge thinks he is smart, he is so fu*king mistaken.

And you think this is a slam dunk for Samsung? If so your brain is inhabited with 99.9999999% DEAD NEURONS.

Are you really that upset because a judge put apple on the "naughty stair"?

Apple's ad should have a picture of the two products followed by this:

"Apple iPad and Samsung Galaxy Tab. They couldn't be more different."

(and then the legal blurb underneath)

Every country has examples on bizarre legal decisions. At least the English legal system does something harmless like this instead of, say, executing the mentally handicapped.

I don't know. This is a stupid decision, but after seeing what having an iPhone costs you per month in the US (in yesterday's thread about 3G Facetime) - it makes me pretty glad to be British.
