While many of us are understandably focused on Obama's economic failures, foreign policy seems to have taken a back seat. From losing Egypt, to leading from behind in Libya, to allowing near-genocide in Syria, Obama's foreign policy has been an unmitigated failure. Several years ago, a thread was started claiming Bush's biggest failure was "losing Russia." What's good for the goose...as they say.
Oh, but there is more. Much more. In addition to ending many of the very same intelligence methods that led to the killing of Osama bin Laden, Obama has dramatically stepped up drone strikes. One problem? As many as 74% of drone strike deaths are civilians.
And yes...it gets worse. In the last few days, Iran has stepped up its anti-Israei rhetoric. "President" Ahmadinejad recently said that Israel is a "tumor" and will soon be destroyed. Obama's response? Ask Mitt Romney for more tax returns.
Next up? Failing to negotiate a U.S. troop presence in Iraq. Opponents of the war say it was pointless. It may just end up being pointless if our hasty exit allows the county to fall into chaos.
A few more:
What we see now is result of Obama's feckless and incomprehensible foreign policy. It is the result of a weakened America, one that is not the global leader, but "one of many." This is Obama's vision.
