Sounds perfectly reasonable to me: buying into both software and hardware updates could be in a state of flux while Samsung sorts out the mess it's got itself into.

Still, why would people dump phones early. Android App Stores can support multiple Vendors phones. There will be plenty of phones to run your purchases on. ( and I'm an iPhone guy)

You would think there would be a spike in sales of the flagship Samsung phones before the inevitable ban hammer comes. The judge won't take them away or force too many major changes.... If you like Samsung's kit, grab it now?

Or maybe people are dumping older phones to fund a grab for one more upgrade to the models Apple is going to get banned. Frankly, just wait... Once the ban hammer hits these will all "double" in price while Samsung goes back to the drawing board and people need replacements for damaged ones.

Sorry, no they won't. They're worthless crap today and their value will only further depreciate.

 

Meanwhile, people with Apple devices that are years old can still get a tidy sum for them, when and if they decide to sell them. There is historical evidence to back up my claim, while all of the facts speak against your rather unlikely prediction.

More likely people are getting ready for the next iPhone.  I would bet this would have happened anyway.  A bigger screen and LTE are 2 of the most desired features of an iPhone, and both should be addressed in a few weeks.

I can see the court case hurting Samsung's brand. People might start dumping their Samsung phones because they're now considered knock-offs. The tech media is so anti-Apple that it's difficult to tell what normal people think. Almost every article or comment is trying to find a negative spin for Apple whereas in the real world people tend to think highly of Apple and are probably less likely to defend a Samsung.

Would it still be OK if the leak was right; retains i4 shape but streches it longer, headset socket at the bottom, have to buy new hi-fi docks and charging cable, and LTE not avaliable until 5S?

It's fine by me.  I bought a 4S in February and won't be replacing it until the new phone comes out next fall :)

You need help. It's just a phone. Most people don't think along those lines or that deeply when choosing one. They go into a store and choose whatever catches their eye and wallet/pocketbook.

Anybody that sells a GSII to Gazelle for 90 bucks just got hosed. They seem to be selling for about 3 times as much on Ebay.

 

 

Now here's a shocker, a old GSI sold for over $200.

It's going out on a limb as in the branch of a tree. Your hoping it'll hold your weight (whatever your claim is) but it could also snap sending you (your claim) crashing down to the ground. In case you don't know your claim was that this was a stunt by Gazelle.
