The Mittens campaign refuses to comment.  Wonder why?

This election is NOT about Libertarian versus non-Libertarian. This election is about capitalism versus Big Brother socialism. Mitt Romney is far from perfect, but at least he believes in capitalism. At least he won't denigrate and discourage business owners. Be thankful for little things.

I’m not just a Libertarian. First and foremost, I'm a capitalist evangelist. I'm proud to be a small businessman.

Economic issues are the whole ballgame at this point. We need to get our fiscal house in order first. Without an economy, without jobs, it’s impossible to deal with all our other problems. Mitt understands, as President Calvin Coolidge once said, “The business of America is business.” That’s why electing Mitt Romney is so important.

This election is our LAST STAND to save America. Mitt understands that Obama’s rhetoric, constant threats against business, union favoritism, IRS intimidation, 60,000 new rules and regulations, stimulus to nowhere, never-ending unemployment and food stamps, the added taxes and regulations of ObamaCare, and the attempt to ban oil drilling and regulate the coal industry out of existence, have collectively ground the U.S. economy to a halt. We will not survive four more years of Obama as CEO of this economy.

The U.S. economy is a large, diverse, failing company in desperate need of a turnaround. At this moment in history America needs a CEO with a track record of extraordinary success, job creation, and specifically- experience turning around failing companies. That person is Mitt Romney.

As Clint Eastwood said, "We own this nation." It's time to take it back. The future of America and our children depends on it. Their quality of life is hanging in the balance. Our back is to the wall.  Obama’s defeat is that important to our economy, our freedoms, our children’s future, and ultimately, the very survival of our country.

It’s time for a coalition of Republicans, conservatives, Tea Party activists, Libertarians, Ron Paul supporters, small business owners, financial first responders (investors and business owners willing to risk our financial lives to create jobs), patriots, and common sense middle-class Americans to join together and support Mitt Romney now.

That is why I’m voting for Mitt Romney. That is why I urge all Libertarians, and Ron Paul supporters, to swallow hard, put our differences aside, and support Mitt Romney.
Vote as if your life…your business…your children’s future depends on it. Because it does.

Wayne Allyn Root is capitalist evangelist, entrepreneur, and Tea Party Libertarian Republican. He is a former Libertarian vice presidential nominee. He is the best-selling author of "The Conscience of a Libertarian: Empowering the Citizen Revolution with God, Guns, Gold & Tax Cuts.external-link.png" For more, visit his website: www.ROOTforAmerica.comexternal-link.png.

Not to this libertarian. He's just regurgitating GOP talking points and saying we should believe them because hey, he's a Libertarian (big "L").

It looks like a pitiful, desperate attempt by the GOP to try to win back support from people it has deliberately disenfranchised and alienated.

Not that it matters in my case.I already cast my vote for Gary Johnson.

While it may be be true (and I'm not yet convinced of this) that Mitt Romney becoming president would be the lesser of two evil situations, I'm not sure that commentary is terribly convincing. A few minor points:

Quote:
This election is about capitalism versus Big Brother socialism.

I'd argue it is about Socialism Brand A and Socialism Brand B.

Quote:
Mitt Romney is far from perfect, but at least he believes in capitalism.

That may well be, but he also seems to have strong crony capitalist streak and appears to be solidly Keynesian in his economics. I don't believe Romney is that much more of a free-marketer than Obama is.

Quote:
At least he won't denigrate and discourage business owners. Be thankful for little things.

That is probably true and we should be thankful for it. I agree.

Quote:

No question that Obama is a disaster.

Perhaps this person is simply using this concept of American as company and President as CEO metaphorically, but even so...I believe this is actually the root of the problem in this country. When even a self-proclaimed libertarian and capitalist evangelist is thinking about and referring to things this way, we know we have a very long way to go.

Bottom line? America is NOT a company, nor is the US government. And we don't need a President as CEO. We need a president who would do things very differently than a private market CEO: A president that will vigorously defend and protect the life, liberty and property rights of every citizen (that includes the rich...I'm looking at you American Left) against any aggression or aggressor both foreign and domestic (not matter how small, insignificant or seemingly justifiable) INCLUDING the government itself.

It's coming, folks!

Let's work out what the right-wingers will say as the reason that Mitt Romney didn't win in the "Mitt Romney is Going to Win" thread! And why the polls were right, not 'skewed.'

-- Sandy

-- Democratic voter fraud

-- Self-fulfilling prophecy / mind-control from Obama

What we won't see:

"I was wrong."

"Karl Rove was wrong."

-- what else?

IfIf you are wrong. I'm not saying that you are wrong. Neither of us know at this point. We might not even know on Tuesday given how close things seem to be.

(Of course you risk looking a bit like a twat either way. But that's a different issue.)

It's not my thread. I didn't declare Romney was going to win. I frankly don't know who is going to win (though 2 months ago I would have guessed Obama)...and right now it looks terribly close for anyone to be making such bold declarations.

Never said it was your thread. What I'm saying, and repeating, is you didn't say "Oh, you 'rightists' are so desperate you've already declared the election a foregone conclusion" when the thread was started, did you?

I guess that's because it would have involved you applying the same criteria to stuff that right-wing people to say to stuff that left-wing people say. Not going to happen, obviously.

Anyway, Barack Obama is Going to Win.

No. I did not explicitly say those words. You're right. Though I've called out SDW a couple of times on his rather brash and bold and ultra confident claims.

If only because the leftists have been so fucking cocky during this election. An Obama win has been a forgone conclusion since day one (for  them). To see you all devolve into the panic and misdirection from any valid reasons for re-electing dipshit, your friends on the left have focused on Big Bird, tax returns and other stupidly irrelevant matters that has been so obvious in recent weeks has been downright hilarious. It's like you can possibly imagine why anyone wouldn't vote for dipshit.

This part stood out to me:

Quote:
Pakistan is the only country in the survey that prefers a Romney presidency. Fourteen percent of polled Pakistanis would vote Republican, against 11 percent Democrat. Seventy-five percent of Pakistanis do not favor either candidate.

I think the people of that area of the world know that regardless of who wins, their families and communities will continue to be ravaged by the interventionist foreign policy that both candidates support.

What we won't see:

"I was wrong."

"Karl Rove was wrong."

-- what else?

  •  Hurricane Sandy probably won't have much of an impact
  • There will be voter fraud, and more Democratic voter fraud than the Republican voter fraud.
  • I don't know what that means.

Now, as to predictions.  I am relying on correctly sampled polls, trends in those polls, breakdowns in those polls (i.e. women, highly motivated voters, party ID, etc) as well as anecdotal evidence like crowd sizes.  All of that tells me Romney wins.  We've been through the gamut as far as the details.  That said, here are few quick additional facts:

  • Rasmussen shows Romney leading 49-48.  His sample has been Dem+3.  Expected turnout is R+1 to 2.  That's up to a five point swing.
  • Polls showing Obama with semi-comfortable leads in places like OH, PA and MI are all using absolutely laughable samples.  This applies to national polls as well, where CNN showed the race tied...but witha  Dem+11 sample.
  • Even in the D+11 poll, Romney wins independents by 22 points.  That has got to make Axelrod sweat a bit.
  • Romney drew 30,000 people in OH two days ago, and 30,000+ to PA yesterday.  I had a friend who went and said the crowd size was "unreal" and that it dwarfed the Bush rally in 2004.  One person described it as a Republican Woodstock.   By contrast, Obama drew 4,200 people to a high school gym yesterday.

I don't think I've been "brash."  I do think that Romney will win, and probably with over 300 electoral votes.  I volunteered making calls yesterday, and the coordinator for the county told me PA looked tight, but they felt confident they could win.  It all comes down to turnout.  If it's what some of the polls show, then Romney can't win.  If it's closer to what Morris and Rove predict (and what early voting is showing), Romney wins going away.  As you said, we'll see.

Perhaps that's a matter of opinion. There have been a few times when you've come across with a similarly "brash" tone about the projected outcome.

Frankly, the left looks funnier in all this because they were so convinced that Obama was unbeatable and that his re-election was to be assumed...seeing things tighten up and seeing their obvious panic and desperation has been rather amusing.

Let's hope that these midwest red states will not prevail. A bunch of backwater rednecks should not determine the future of America. I'd hate to believe that rednecks and wall street criminals would control this country.  In New York and California where there are intellectuals they are solidly against Romney.

Its just crazy to think that this country could potentially be led by a person who wears special sacred underwear. Sure abstinence from alcohol could be a virtue but when you host a state dinner for world dignitaries they are going to expect some wine or Champagne. If you don't deliver or partake  you are going to be marginalized if not ridiculed. Leave religion out of government. Religion is hateful bigotry and has no place in American law or the constitution. Go back to your cult we don't want you in the White House. Mormons or any religious  fanatics for that matter are mentally incapacitated  people who should not be allowed to be in public office.

You can rule from Missouri in your thousand year Millennium after the messiah returns but not now.

Haha. I'm from New York and the average liberal here is dumb as crap, not to mention extremely ignorant and they are typical low information voters. Go interview a few average Obama voters on the street, and you'll end up talking to some extremely dumb people. I doubt that they would even be qualified to scrub my toilet. Wall Street is also mostly against Obama this time, they were foolishly for him last time, but I guess that they learned their lesson, and so did many others.

I am of course hoping for a Romney victory. It'll be great news for AAPL and great news for me. Screw the liberals in New York and California. Many of the people in New York and California aren't even real Americans. They had better be checking the voters out carefully in the polling places tomorrow to counter Obama voter fraud.

I am of course hoping for a Romney victory. It'll be great news for AAPL and great news for me. Screw the liberals in New York and California. Many of the people in New York and California aren't even real Americans. They had better be checking the voters out carefully in the polling places tomorrow to counter Obama voter fraud.

I respect your opinion. I have read all of your posts but as you have admitted "the weed has affected your memory" and this is evident in your inability to see that the republican spin is the same bullshit that GWB was spewing ....remember how that turned out? No I guess you don't.

That weed joke was just that, a joke. Even if I happened to smoke a pound of weed, I'd still be more alert and have a far better memory than Obama for example, who of course did far worse things than weed.

And, as I've pointed out before, I am no Republican, and I am not in favor of every idea that they push. However, I believe that virtually anybody would be better than Obama. He's had his chance, and he has failed miserably.

Let Romney fix the economy, as Romney is far more intelligent and more qualified than Obama, and if Romney were to fail to deliver on his promises, then he too would get the boot in four years. There is no way that Obama deserves another four more years, IMO. But we shall see what happens tomorrow.1smile.gif

Well you are entitled to your opinion however knowing your racist tendencies from all of your previous posts I could not regard your evaluation as unbiased analytical commentary. You are as far from being fair minded as anyone I have ever known. Of course when you consider that after taking office he was faced with a massive disaster caused entirely by republican leadership, Obama's first term should be considered crisis remediation not an actual record of achievement. Now that the ship is righted, we should give him a chance to show what he can do. Oh, no he is black, no favors. Screw you, you racist bigots. Your posts are nothing but a string of discriminatory racism and have no legitimacy whatsoever. On matters of Apple tech I don't disagree with many of your remarks but on the matter of politics or resect for other people you score and absolute zero in my book.

Here we go with the race card. lol.gif I can just imagine what liberals will be saying and doing tomorrow, should Romney win. lol.gif

However bad the situation was when Obama took office, he's only made things worse. If he didn't want the job, then he shouldn't have run for office.

The racists are the liberals who vote for Obama solely because of skin color. And some of them even proudly admit it. Those people are pure garbage, and I have as much respect for them as I would have for a Grand Wizard of the KKK, which is to say, none at all.

And nope, Obama gets no favors from me and he doesn't get a pass from me because he's half black. I don't believe in affirmative action when it comes time to choose the POTUS. It's time to send the incompetent Obama back to Chicago.

The video I linked above is going viral.  Sadly, some think this video only shows a debate over Mittens' religion.

Rather, it shows his uncontrollable temper, which could make working with him difficult and could make international relations rather dangerous.  I asked a few friends who run companies from 8 to 200 employees about the video.  All said it showed a problem and all but one said they would fire an employee for exhibiting the same behavior.  One said he wouldn't have given Mittens a job in the first place.

Your = the possessive of you, as in, "Your name is Tom, right?" or "What is your name?"

You're = a contraction of YOU + ARE as in, "You are right" --> "You're right."

You are so sad, even desperate.  You sound like Obama on the campaign trail.  You're not even attacking policies...you're attacking Romney himself.

Bigoted statement.  And I know you'd love it if only celebrities, the inner cities and dead people determined the outcome of out elections.

Wow.  Just...wow.

Uncontrollable temper?  LOL.

First of all, thanks for stating the obvious as a millennium IS 1000 years.

Next, is it religious individuals who are hateful and bigotted, or is it the entire tone and content of your post that is hateful and bigotted?

OK...  Could you post the video demonstrating uncontrollable temper?  The video you posted did seem to illustrate frustration and annoyance, but hardly anything I would describe as an uncontrollable temper.  Even if you do perceive it that way, do you seriously think that a person is going to react/behave the same way with a morning radio host as they would with foreign diplomats?
