Updating iTunes to update device

Hi. The iTunes requires to update the software to 10.7 in order to update the device. However, there are no updates available when using check for software update. Currently using Mac OS10.5.8. Tried to download iTunes 10.7 manually but it says the program can't be installed in the OS. What to do? Thanks.

The new i tunes app is coming out in Oct sometime. Just wait till than.

That will help him in absolutely no way. His OS can't even handle iTunes 10.7; it won't be running iTunes 11.

 

Author, you need to buy Snow Leopard, Lion, or Mountain Lion. The minimum requirement of iTunes 10.7 is Mac OS 10.6.8.
