The teen years are very emotional for young men. Most get new feelings of being a bit rebellious, challenging parents, feeling very sad, hurt. Many don't learn to properly manage their emotions & become extremely angry. Everyone is on their case, parents, teachers, even the girlfriend. So instead of working it out, they are just angry all-the-time. Then an angry friend say, " Hey, listen to this rap, man, its so real, it speaks to where I am…I am one with the music. As they get older & blare the music loud, it's a huge "FU" to the world & it makes them feel good. When people look at them annoyed because they can't hear their own music in their own car, the angry ones feel powerful, turn the radio up louder, & mock their victim's misery. Unfortunately, it appears that negative, vulgar angry rap music reinforces negative & angry feelings & the 'young man' doesn't see he's trapped, not even looking for a way out, thereby perpetuating his own misery.
The older generation doesn't like bad behavior as displayed in the computer store. In our day, this out-of-control kid would have been tackled by store security, punched out or choked out to stop the behavior. In the really old days, a parent would have come down to the store & publicly spanked the tar out of kid, because the kid was tarnishing the family name, a total embarrassment to the father & family. Today, we see people who justify smashing the laptops as 'artistic expression,' & that we shouldn't stifle the creative processes. What a bunch of hogwash.
You are addicted to the feeling of being angry & the music reinforces that, so it feels right. Attitudes, feeling & behaviors can be changed to facilitate being productive & nurturing people of society. No woman, job, group or association other than other angry people will put up with it, & then you'll feel, 'the whole world is against me.' The world is not against you, its against your anger, breaking things & hurting people.
