If the #1 selling Android phone in history (#1 by a long shot) takes this long to get an update what does that tell you about their priorities? What about people who bought a phone that only sold a couple million? Will they be forgotten?

Tells me that they don't need the latest OS update to sell more than Apple.    Consumers don't care about updates.  They care about features and usability.  If I never got an update i would be happy.   I am not obsessed with having the "latest".

So I guess that doesn't make iPhone "cool" any more.
I will NEVER pay $679 for an 8GB plastic cell phone

Actually, it (the iPhone 4S) was released October 14, 2011, 8 months prior to August 2012, as I previously stated.

That is very, very long 'history" of sales.

(8 months is not a long 'history').
