PDF Thumbnail in Snow Leopard Dock ?

Is it possible to show the PDF Thumbnail preview in the Dock, on OS X Snow Leopard, like what the Finder is able to do ?

Currently, I see no options anywhere to add this functionality to the Dock, but I strongly have the impression there should be some command to the Terminal, to turn ON this feature.

Just to be clear, I'm talking about a single PDF document placed in the Dock.  Currently, the file is simply showing as a dull generic PDF file.  The same file can show the first page of the PDF document as a small preview icon on the Desktop (if you turn ON that option in the Finder).  But what about the Dock ?

Any idea ?

You want the clickable arrows on the icon, but usable in the Dock, right?

Can't be done. What you CAN do is see QuickLook previews of items within folders stored in the Dock.

1000

Just hover over the item you want and press your QuickLook key.

Well, yes and no.

What I would like to see is the PDF preview of the first page (as a permanent icon), in the Dock, without using any key.

I now strongly suspect it's imposible in OS X Snow Leopard.

Here's an example, made with an icon pasted on the PDF document :

It doesn't seem to work if you just drag a PDF into the Dock - they should fix that. What you can do though is put a single PDF into a folder and drag the folder into the Dock. It will then show the PDF preview but it requires more than one click to open.

I agree that this is inconsistent with the general behavior of the Finder and other properties of the Dock in Snow Leopard.

Unfortunately, they wont fix it.  Nomore update for SL.  1oyvey.gif

So update to a newer OS. Doesn't do it there either (for any filetype), but at least it could change.
