Dont know about that one specifically.
Probably be fine.
Ive been using this for years http://blog.tice.de/index.php?rubrik=software&content=invisibles_engl

There's also this one http://easyfind.en.softonic.com/mac A bit clunky but works well so long as you're specific in the search field.

lol - just a nag. Hit later and carry on.
Can't blame him for trying to get a donation.
Perfectly safe.

Perfectly safe.

It's a confusing nag though, and upon first sight I thought they were calling their app malware.

What's the serial number box for? I prefer the other app I used. The one I didn't know if I could trust.

Pay him a donation and you'll get a # and no more nag.

If you prefer the other app, cool.
Invisibles works great coz you don't have to restart the Finder.
I'll DL your one and give it a go tomo.
Of course you can do it all via Terminal if you want - I always prefer a couple of clicks instead of launching Term and typing a command.

Side note: interesting to see the maturing of some these free utilities. One of my faves has been Carbon Copy Cloner. Mike the dev, has had ads in his app GUI for a few years now. Still free, great app and who can blame these guys for earning some $$$$ for continued support.

By forcing a confusing nag in people's face, I'd categorize this as Ultimatumware. If he wants a donation he shouldn't be a jerk. Either ask people nicely (with no serial number on his freeware) or charge for the app. There's no middle ground. And thusly I deleted the app.

You can always wrap your terminal scripts into an app. I have like 20 apps that are all just calls to bash and perl scripts but with a pretty button to push.
When I looked up "Ninjas" in Thesaurus.com, it said "Ninja's can't be found" Well played Ninjas, well played.
