Apple System Status page now monitors iOS device activation servers

Thread Starter
Apple has added a new capability to its System Status page, allowing those interested to quickly check whether the activation servers for iOS devices are up and running.

The System Status page allows users to check whether assorted Apple services are running, including the iTunes Store, the Apple Online Store, iCloud, iTunes Match, Reminders, Maps, and more. Now Apple has added its iOS Device Activation services to the page, making it easier for new iPhone and iPad owners having trouble activating their product to check whether it is the device itself or Apple's servers.

Apple's iCloud services have seen a number of outages over the past several months, with iMessage, FaceTime, and others seeing sporadic downtime that in some cases lasted for hours.

The page has also been updated to remove a reference to Photo Journals, though that feature remains active in iPhoto.

I'd rather have them fix that video's don't play on iOS devices in photo stream than fine-tuning their status webpage.

Yeah, because it's one or the other, right? Trust me, they didn't add that status INSTEAD of whatever your issue is, as your post implies.

That is indeed not what I meant. Still, I'd like to see them fix the video not playing issue on iOS. Fortunately it does work when you make the stream public and share the URL as the videos do play in a web browser. So there is an alternative, but still...
