Apple is pushing toward an all-Retina lineup, and recently discontinued the 15-inch non-Retina MacBook Pro when it announced new models featuring Intel's Haswell CPUs and Iris integrated graphics.
The existing 13-inch MacBook Pro is the sole model in Apple's portable lineup to boast a disk drive, though the company offers an external SuperDrive for those who rely on CD or DVD media.
It should be noted that Apple lowered its price point for the entry-level 13-inch Retina Pro, with the computer starting at $1,299. By comparison, the 13-inch non-Retina MacBook Pro starts at only $100 less, but comes with more storage albeit in the form of a slower HDD.
Best Buy's sale starts on Friday and ends on Saturday, with special pricing available in-store.
