Newton Connection Utility work with AppleShare IP?

Is the NCU incompatible with AppleShareIP 6?

I have an 8600 running AppleShareIP and I want to sync my Newton MP2000 with it but the Mac freezes and the Newton loses the connection, on the occasion that it doesn't freeze I get a type -37 error on the Mac and the Newton still disconnects.

Anyone have any ideas?

How are you connecting, via serial or ethernet?

Serial. I tried this weekend connecting and backing up to my dad's 7600 running 9.1 over serial and it worked fine. But I always get that same lock and crash on the 8600 - I am assuming this is AppleShareIP.

I have a Farallon ethernet card I wanted to use but it has not model number listed on it and while it is almost identical to those I have seen on unna.org it has a red arrow on the top not a blue one. Someone told me that only blue ones will work. I have all the proper drivers I can find loaded for it but the Newton still does not recognize it so at the moment I am stuck with serial, sigh.
