How do I turn off my iPod?

Hmm my iPod is running and I cannot turn it off. Any ideas on what to do??? :/

It's supposed to turn itself off after you let it sit unused for a few minutes. If you want to turn it off manually, hold down the Play/Pause button for two seconds.

Let's say I am listening to music and I am done with it, is it sposed to shut off? How does it know to when to shut off and when not to?

It will turn off after you stop going through the menus and it's not playing any music.
