Info needed on JVC Mini DV Camcorder

I am in the market for a Mini DV Camcorder

Recently I had the opportunity to try out (borrow from a friend) a JVC GR DVM 90 on my Mac with iMovie
and the results were great!!!

It seems like this model is no longer made, but I came across what looks
like a good deal on a JVC GR DVM 70 for $599.00.

Does anyone know the difference between these 2 models.

Does the DVM 70 replace the DVM 90?

Any info would be greatly appreciated.

If you use FCP, make sure there are drivers for this JVC. Typically, canon and sony are the top miniDV cameras. Check the Canon ZR something which is the lowest price model. also, abig feature if you are going to do Web movies is Progressive Scan or Frame mode. This enables the camera to shoot like a film camera (24fps) versus "interlaced" 60 fps. It makes web movies easier to compress. otherwise, you will need to "deinterlace". progressive scan is a great feature and the low end canon should have this.
