Are Apple going to 'vPod' the 'iPod' to something like this?

Thoughts?

The fact that it was called as the iPod might means that Apple has a lot of plans for it.

After all, the current iPod has done so many functions as more than just a MP3 player. It's a portable hard disk and also a simple organizer.

But yes, it's quite probable that the iPod will turn into something like the Archos' JukeBox MultiMedia.

After all, the JukeBox MultiMedia managed to do some of the things that the Mind@Work's Digital Wallet did (storing photographs from Compact Fash and SmartMedia cards).

The iPod seems to have an advantage with its built-in FireWire port (thee JukeBox). This mean that it can be added with somekind of a FireWire extension module (should one is designed in the future) or the iPod can be designed to work on some FireWire devices (the iPod itself after all, is already a hard disk with a FireWire interface).

How about an Apple version of this: <a href="http://www.sonicblue.com/audio/rio/rio_audiocenter.asp" target="_blank">http://www.sonicblue.com/audio/rio/rio_audiocenter.asp</a>
for the home?
Of course with firewire instead of usb and maybe an upgrade to an 80 gb hd.
