Nothing in the Scranton and Wilkes-Barre stores in Pennsylvania.

They're selling them on the website, and for about $30 less than list price. the 20GB lists for $374, and the 10GB $379. They don't seem to be carrying the 5GB version, and only the 10GB mac model is available.

Interesting, I wonder what kind of discount BestBuy employees are getting on these. BestBuy usually gives really steep discounts to their employees, and I've got a friend who works at the one in town...

No offense to your friend and all, but from my experience, there's a double-digit maximum IQ for employees at the Savannah Best Buy. If you want an iPod that badly walk the 30 yards over to the Apple reseller and ask for the educational discount.

lol, non taken, he's not that close a friend. more like a "hey, he gets big discounts off cool stuff" friend. It's definitely not known for its customer service, and it only got worse once all the old managers got fired and the army rangers took over.

As for AIS, eh. I only go there when I feel the need to get insulted. Everything third-party is ludicrously overpriced, and the selection is severely limited. The people in there can be kinda snotty, too. They had a battery labelled for use with lombard powerbooks, and when I asked if it would work with my Pismo (which, I knew it should have) the dude at the counter got all "Nick Burns Computer Guy" on me and was all like "well, duh, of course it will, they're basically like the same machine, duh."

Okay, thanks for the help, I'll just got buy it online for half of what you want for it, biotch.

Really really really wish we'd get an apple store here, soon!

ciao,

michael

Ok guys, let me tell you something...I worked for a Best Buy for almost a year. You guys are absolutely right. I frequently recieved compliments about my product knowledge due to the fact that the customers I was helping never got any help from any of the other sales associates. My mom walked in andd asked a guy about a 2.4 Ghz phone, and the guy compared it to computers and their processor speed!!! All Best Buy gives a damn about is numbers. You know those Service Plans...thats all they care about. Go to CompUSA and buy one of their service plans for the iPod for 20 bucks. They dont know what they are doing so you can easily replace an iPod for a newer one (my old 10GB was acting up and they didnt ask any questions and I upgraded to the 20GB). While at Best Buy I was often asked what was the best computer for movies, mp3s, and photos that wouldnt crash on them...I would usually bring up and explain the iMac, then show them what the PC side offered, 9 out of 10 times, they took my directions to the nearest Apple reseller...oh, and the discount is really really nice...thats all I really miss...I work for an Apple Store now...he he he <img src="graemlins/lol.gif" border="0" alt="[Laughing]" />
