So this is the right forum, right? OS X? Is it part of the OS? No? Did I screw up? Am I in before my own thread gets locked?

There are a number of discussions on iSync over in Digital Hub, the appropriate forum as iSync is clearly a part of, uh, the assy digital hub thing.
