iPhoto question

Okay, I've got a lot of photos in iPhoto and the ones I want are sorted into photo albums. The ones I deleted are still in the photo library, however. Is there any way to reconcile the photos in the albums with those in the photo library - so that if a photo isn't in an album it gets deleted from the photo library? I know you can do this manually, but I have hundreds of photos so that would take too much time.

Try this:
Select all the photos in the iPhoto library and assign them some keyword (maybe "delete"). Then select all of the photos in each Album and unassign that keyword. Then go to the iPhoto library and tell it to show the photos with the keyword delete. Select these and delete them.
