From what we see of their posts, that would catch quite a few of them.

Has anyone actually seen these ads (including the "Wall Hugger" spot) in any kind of paid placement? Or is Samsung just posting this stuff onto YouTube in hopes of ginning up controversy and free clicks on tech blogs? IIRC, they've produced other embarrassingly bad promo spots (like the infamous Galaxy Gear skiing vid) that they narrowly target at a specific audience, but never run on any kind of paid media. Just free publicity.

I don't know how it is the US but Samsung runs their commercials on prime time TV here, Zurich airport also has Samsung charging ports throughout the airport, so does Charles de Gaulle, Heathrow and Berlin Tegal.

Not only are the comments always the same, so much so that you could literally copy and paste the comments from a Samsung thread that was created 5 years ago into this one and no one would be the wiser, they also bring out the worst in people. Ironically there isn't many products in Apples line up that doesn't contain a component from Samsung or has an Apple designed component that's manufactured by Samsung. However because it's not visible to the user no hypocrisy has been committed. Back in 1988 The Christians boycotted the movie, "The Last Temptation of Christ" and the studio behind it, Universal, however it turned out to be a harder endeavor then initially thought do to Universals mass reach in the world of media and the amount subsidiaries they controlled. Plus, God forbid the men of those Christian families didn't lineup out side the theaters just a year later to see GoodFellas. My point being is if you truly hate Samsung and refuse to use their products your going to have to go all in to do so and not simply choose the products that you deem worthy or you're just being hypocritical, oh so now it's okay to just use some of Samsung's products, great, then in that case can we stop posting these ridiculously comments over and over and over and over again, that bring absolutely nothing of worth while to this forum. If it's just to much of a sacrifice to make because hating is so much fun, then may I suggest the creation of a single thread in which all of future comments for news pertaining to Samsung point to it automatically. Hopefully the amount repetitive comments will just eventually discourage people from posting their all together.

I don't mean to come across as a jerk but you guys have so much more to offer then just hate. You don't like Samsung, fine, we all know now, no need for anymore discussion on the matter.

Just say no to link bait.

I love the Samsung stories and especially the comments.

I'm afraid that your comment is entirely worthless. If you get annoyed by Samsung articles and their comments, simply don't read them; it's not so hard.

Edit: I'm sorry, Relic, that was unnecessarily harsh. That's a bad trait of mine. Your comments are often highly entertaining. I just feel, that in the case of Samsung, people have very strong feelings that are justified, and though you may well disagree, it would be better to ignore it, if only for your peace of mind.

No problemo amigo, I understand where you are coming from too. These articles can be fairly entertaining at times and I am in no way suggesting that AppleInsider completely stop reporting on Samsung or any of Apples competitors, I would just like to see a limit on the number of stories,  perhaps just the ones that affect Apple directly. News about Samsung releasing yet another tablet should really be skipped as their only true purpose is so we can attack them.

Oh I wish it was called that, such a cool name. I get to see a Tab S up close on Friday. hubby and kids took me shopping for a small midi keyboard before they dropped me off at the heliport. I wanted something to play with while I'm in the hospital for the next couple of weeks. Anyway while my hubby was paying for my loot I went upstairs to InterDiscount to check out the new toys, they had the 10.5 version of the Tab S, it's defiantly not the the most attractive looking tablet there is, that gold/brown color is pretty hideous, my goodness is that display just breath taking though, yes the iPad Air is also very nice but this thing is in a different category all into itself. I defiantly want a monitor with Super-Duper-Duper AMOLED display.

It's been such a long time since I set foot into a music store or went shopping for that matter, so needless to say I went a little crazy. First thing I saw and had to have was the all new Akai APC Key 25;

I got it for my new Surface 3 to be used in conjunction with Abelton Live as it's a controller specifically made for the program. Now I already have the Albeton Push, but it's a little to big for me to carry around and it doesn't have a build in keyboard, so I would have had to bring one of those along as well but the smallest one have is a Novation SL MkII, aaaah poor me.

My iPad got some luv'n too, presenting two of the most awesomest iPad midi thingamabobbers from Keith McMillen;

QUNEXUX

QUNEO

I didn't want to leave but my flight was leaving in an hour and especially after I saw they had a Teenage Engineering OP-1 on display, imagine having a full featured Moog in the palm of your hand, I've been reading about this little guy for about a year now but it's one of those thing's that you can only dream about having because their just to darn expensive too justify the cost. Didn't matter though as I left with some pretty great toys.

I said goodbye to the family and boarded the helicopter to Geneva. You guys ever ride in one of those things, so much fun, it was a medi-copter so I had to lay down, though the flight medic propt me up a little so I could see out the window, unfortunately she knocked me out so I was asleep about 20 minutes into it. Anyway, I arrived okay in Geneva and got checked into the hospital. The next day while the nurse was helping me unpack I found an unfamiliar white box, inside was a Teenage Engineering OP-1, while I was upstairs checking out the computers my crazy husband had bought my ridiculous little dream toy and had my son stuff it into my bag.

Personally, the only thing in the tech world that strike me as worse than this lame advertising is DED's ridiculous argument that FOSS is somehow unsafe, using the same techniques such as comparing non-updated devices to updated ones, or a device working in ideal conditions to a device out of the functional zone (white tshirt guy)

The video clip we see first (and supposedly shown on the iPad) is actually different to the one shown on the Tab S. The man in the shadows has a darkened section over-layed onto the rest of the video. I've modified the brightness and contrast to show this better. You can see from the circled section that it shouldn't be dark not even on a low quality LCD screen let alone a display as good quality as an iPad Air.

It's one thing to simulate your own screen (avoid lag, finger shadows, camera reflections and glare etc) but it's not ok to fake someone else's screen in order to make yours look better in comparison. I'm aware the videos aren't really playing on the iPad/TabS ("screen images simulated") but they aren't even the same videos.

Fake fake lies fake.

Cant really see this for being Apple bashing, in the first video with the child, they are showing Android OS (0:14) http://goo.gl/YqhDBa , the second, there is no "Home" button on the so called "Ipad" in both videos and those "Ipads" looks alot thicker than the Ipad 1...

They do, but that automatically disqualifies them from being considered. If they answer ‘cabbage’ or ‘aardvark’, on the other hand…

While the Apple people will try to ignore that an LCD based retina screen will offer the detail, contrast and clarity of the Samsung AMOLED the facts are that it just can't.  Apple is behind the quality curve here.  Now for some this better samsung screen may not matter enough if they like apple products, the operating system or the brand.  For others it may matter.

I've been an all iPad household since the original ipad having purchased 3 of each iteration plus an ipad mini.  For the first time EVER I'm actually curious and interested to see the new Samsung product.  I'm a heavy Google Apps user (gmail, calendar, docs, picasa, etc) so the Samsung would do most of what I want.  That said I do not think Samsung has priced itself any differently than the ipad, have they?  Maybe the only big advantage is if you load up the memory.  In this case Apple will nail you for a few hundred more while you can buy an SD card on the Samsung and add up to 128GB for a pittance (something I think would be $300 or $400 more in ipad).

Anyway the screen ad is more appealing in terms of hardware feature for me.  The split screen is minimal and I believe apple will have that in their OS pretty soon anyway.  What's my next tablet?  I don't know yet.  And that's the scary part because I always knew 100%.

Where can I get a 128GB micro SD card for a "pittance"?

Last time I looked they were still expensive.

Better than my Bose, better than my Skullcandy's, listening to Mozart through my LeBron James limited edition PowerBeats by Dre is almost as good as my Sennheisers.

Samsung has actually been dabbling in home automation for quite a while now, the refrigerator we have in our winter house in Disentis is a Samsung Smart home appliance, we bought it 2 years ago. They also sell smart washer and dryers, those silly robot vacuum cleaners, air-conditioning units, etc. All controlled by a phone or tablet, this move by Samsung might seem like just another attempt at copying but for an electronic manufacture that also makes home utilities it's a logical step to expand their current efforts in this field.

By no means am I trying to belittle your efforts of dissing Samsung or am I defending them, just thought conversation needed more info on the story.
